How Gravity Rush targeted a global audience without selling its soul

EDGE- In 2009, veteran game designer Keiji Inafune famously stood in front of his peers at the Tokyo Game Show and told them, “Japan is over. We’re done. Our game industry is finished”.

Fast forward to 2012 and a new era is beginning. At the recent CEDEC 2012 event in Yokohama, the writer and producer of Gravity Rush gave a fascinating talk on how Japanese developers can create games that appeal to both native and Western audiences – without abandoning local eccentricities, without selling out.

This game is very underrated, Sony should have advertised this game with commercials. I can picture girls watching a commercial of Gravity Rush and feeling inspired.

can only agree I still hope that Sony shows some advertisement for this Game on tV this soon, along with a lbp ad. Perhaps they should advertise this game as a Vita bundle in the near future

My daughter loved it when she played it.

I loved gravity rush and have played thru it 2.5 times.

I even bought the DLC to support them even thought the DLC was alittle pricy for what it was I was hapy to get more gravity rush and show I want more.

Obviously the game is set up to have a sequel with how it ended but I also remember hearing they were talking about gravity rush 2 at the gdc or something a while back.

I will buy GR2 when it comes out for sure.

Seriously this game is my action-rpg of the year, even beating Mass Effect 3 IMO

One of my favourite games this year.
I hope it gets a sequel.
I also hope Kat is in PS All Stars for a bit of exposure.

Couldnt agree more Harry!

The story basically hints at a sequel... unless its tied up with the dlc which.. i've only played one. But yeah amazing game.

I picked it up the first day it came out, never looked backed and I've been playing it off and on, trying to platinum the game :) I liked the side quests (perhaps longer for the sequel and a bit more varied). I just want sales on the DLC, it's a bit short for $3.99.
I wish there had been some sort of outcome for the time traveler couple. I liked that side story, was very sad, which reminds me, the soundtrack of that game is awesome!

yeah, a bundled dlc wouldn't hurt.

Kat deserves more advertisement from Sony. Gravity Rush can be the banner game for the Vita right now but alas they are missing out on the opportunity.
