I have to disagree. Yeah it's a great game, but like everything it had its time. It doesn't have to keep riding the same train every year. It's definitely time to move on. That is if SE can ever make a game as good again.
Gamers will never be able to stop talking about FFVII, it is one of if not the best RPG of all time. Contrary to the hipster/Non-Conformist Conformists out there, FFVII has done far more for the industry than any other in the series.
I love how the haters use FFVII images and clips to bring ppl in for hits constantly, just so they can bag on it and pretend its not important. Sensationlizing at it's best.
And no, everyone does not love the game simply because it was many's first. It is just that damn good. If the alternative were true, everyone should like FFI the best :/
Wrong. FFVII wouldn't be what it was in even the smallest way if not for FFIV. That game influenced FFVII in a big way and is far superior to FFVII. FFVII is extremely overrated. It's a great game no doubt, but it's not the Messaiah that people make it out to be.
In what way is FF4 > 7? It's not at all. Go and play them again and tell me that truthfully. I don't believe FF7 is "the messiah". But I believe it is the best FF for quite a few reasons. If anything THAT is nostalgia talking, FF4 doesn't have anything particularly better than FF7.

The game is timeless and if people are still talking about it, it is because it is a great game.
If you dont like it dont play it and go back to Call of Duty or something.
