"GTA V" can surpass the legendary "GTA San Andreas" according to Rockstar Games Technical Support
The lack of news about expected Grand Theft Auto V may be annoying fans, entreanto today apparently had a novelty that will cheer everyone.
(Grand Theft Auto V, PC, PS3, Rockstar Games, Xbox 360)
Well, that's what we're hoping for. I think that any series that doesn't expect to surpass previous entries is a series worth abandoning. GTA V should be stellar.
Isn't SA only topped by GT:4 sales wise? It'll be hard to top that. Besides, sells doesn't determinate the quality of a game. The sales aregument is almost like views on youtube. Juston Biebers song Baby must be the best song ever made couse it has 600 million views.
GTA 5 will only be better if it will have everythig GTA SA had, and more! + big landscapes and mountains, lots of water and beaches! I remember I had so much fun outside the city! the only reason I dont play GTA4 is lack of nature!
I'm just glad I get to head back into nature. The first time I rode that mountain bike off the top of Mt. Chiliad with a parachute in tow was the greatest feeling I've had in a GTA game.
It's great to get away from the city sometimes, change of scenery always makes it fun. That's why I consider San Andreas the greatest GTA game to date.
Just started playing Ballad of Gay Tony today. WOW! Idk what Rockstar was thinking! Luis' storyline should have been the main 40 adventure and Niko's story should have been condensed to 10 hour DLC.
If GTAV bases itself off of the fun, humor, and excess of BOGT rather than Niko's serious tale of revenge/deception, GTAV will be a guaranteed masterpiece.
No, Niko was by far the worst GTA character. Why make a game in which there is a tonne of killing and other nefarious acts and give it a main character who doesn't want to be doing any of it and spends the whole game complaining about it.
The best character was Tommy Vercetti. First, he was a fun guy (you know, as long as you were on his good side) with a great sarcastic sense of humor. Second, and more importantly, he had INITIATIVE. Less than halfway through Vice City he starts building his own criminal empire. A lot of the missions you do are written like he WANTS to do these things, like they're going to build up his power or something. And during the last mission you find out that the entire game has been a long revenge scheme against Sonny (who set him up years ago). He was NEVER trying to expand Sonny's business - he was in it for himself the whole time.
So if he's the best character, the worst is CJ. Yeah, I know, you can make him fat and cover him in tattoos. So what? He spends the whole game being pushed around and told what to do, always reacting to other characters. He has no idea how to save his neighborhood, build up the GSF, beat the crooked cops, free his brother, or anything else. In short he's a fucking idiot, and he stumbles blindly into nearly every success and partnership he has.
Where does that leave Niko? Well, if he had the same depth that CJ did, he would be the worst, because there's nothing worse than playing a game about being a criminal when the game is constantly wringing its hands over how awful crime is and reminding you that Niko doesn't want to do any of the things you're making him do. Niko's saving grace is that his character actually does have some depth, and that makes him sort of interesting.
GTA IV was overrated, and yes, GTA IV is one of the worst GTA games in the series. Here's hoping GTA V is more like the GTA games last gen and not like GTA IV.
imo gta 4 is one of the greatest games of all time, yep it wasn't as crazy as san andreas or vice city but the amount of quality, detail and polish is second to non
that would be nice. I though gta 4 would have been alot better without that crappy cell phone and every gangster trying to have a bromance with nico the cold blooded killer.
They were going for realism but do they really think I will beleive in a gangster that kills a bunch of people goes bowling 100 times as much as I do, an upstanding citizen? Also right after I save his brother his approval rating of me goes down because I dont go bowling with him or some crap, maybe he wanted to go get some icecream or something, maybe a balloon.
nothing to do with sales. gta san andrea was just the most enjoying out of all. rpg elements and soo much activity to get into. sr3 reminded me of san andreas some what but im realli lookin forward to gta 5.
i work for the government now soo $$$$$ baby cnt wait for first check imma buy a huge tv for my ps3 :)
Everyone expects that and I hope that statement delivers.I,for one, have never been disappointed with a GTA game....though GTA IV almost came close, but it's dlc got that fixed, particularly TBoGT.
The music is very important..GTA:SA & GTA:VC are considered the best GTAs made.. Soundtrack is key. And San Adreas hit that era right on the head. Same as Vice. Agreed?
GTA IV is the highest-rated GTA game to date (and the highest rated game of the last decade), so it is definitely considered the best GTA title. There's really no argument to be made against that. As for the soundtrack, VC and SA took place during a certain time period in the past. Rockstar got to look back and choose all the perfect songs that characterized those time periods and brought great nostalgia. Unfortunately, a GTA game set in modern times will never be able to have that same, almost magical effect with its soundtrack.
Well, it should. Every new installment in a series should try to outscore the former, that's exactly what we expect. GTA IV was a good game but it just didn't have the fun factor that San Andreas had and we're hoping for a return to the witty, comical style.
I think GTA should not take itself too seriously, betrayed war veteran story was kind of too dark for a game like GTA, the story of San Andreas was not a child story as well but there were just too much humor in it to keep it funny at the same time. Maybe it was just the setting that made the game as enjoyable as it was. I miss the bcycles, the sand, the boat races, being able to go to gym and work out, getting your hair cut the way you want. Maybe it was just CJ, he was the best possible character to star in a game like GTA.
I have high hopes for this game though, going back to San Andreas will be like taking a ferris wheel ride, there's no way you can't enjoy it regardless of how old you are.
I don't know about this one fellas. I maybe in the minority but I think that gamers have moved on. I am not saying that it will flop but I don't think it will as successful as the previous versions.
I personally didnt care much about GTA before 4 because the poor auto aim shooting mechanics were total game breakers for me. I hope I can give it a shot someday. I finished GTA4 with auto targeting turned off and still think it was a very mediocre system, so theres a ton of improvement to be done there. I enjoyed GTA4 as a whole but I think its EXTREMELY overrated. I played very little of GTA:SA, but the amount of ppl that loved it is astonishing. Even if they never completed it, they would play it just to fool around the city using cheat codes and unleashing chaos on the environments. Theres something amusing about that.Doubt GTA5 will archieve the sale level of popularity.
All I hope is that it has an expanded version of the bodybuilding aspect from San Andreas, that's the shit that got me into weight training in the first place
Surpass San Andreas quality wise? Could happen, likely.
I just really hope the customization from San Andreas is back and also THE CHEATS!!!!!!! DON'T FORGET THE AWESOME CHEATS!!!!!! Lol
It's great to get away from the city sometimes, change of scenery always makes it fun. That's why I consider San Andreas the greatest GTA game to date.
LOLOLOLOLOLOL

Ballad of Gay Tony knocked GTAIV out of the park.

GTA IV was horrible.
Here is hoping GT goes back to its root and forget this trying to be a real life mafia dram game with people calling u 24-7.
After that it becomes too repetitive. Vice City is still my favourite of the series.
But to me GTA 4 was really boring. I felt like the missions were repetitive and the customization was very limited.
you won't hear a company bash their own product..
this is marketing 101..
still can't wait for this game...
if it's better than San Andreas or not..ima play the fudge out that pucker..
of course R* want it to be better than San Andreas.. duh..

That one got a chuckle. Bubbles for you.
Otherwise why would they compare it to SA rather than 4??
