Cliff Bleszinski doesn’t want as much “dudebro” in future Gears of War games, and believes he and Epic are “thought leaders” when it comes to the representation of women in videogames.

Wasn't Gears nothing but "dudbro" after the survival horror aspect became forgotten?

Godmars2902282d ago

But if they've been doing this for 2.5 out of 3 games, and lets face it much of the series has revolved around your relationships with the members of your squad, then that's been the series's main theme.

Kalowest2282d ago

At least the series didn't have a "Bro Rape" scene.

First of all let me say this, I am a Gear head, look at my achievement list and you will see that not only have I played all the games I've also played the PC game.

I don't fully have the achievements for the first because I didn't have HS internet at the time they were released.

That said Epic and Cliff are clueless when it comes to Gears, they are getting further and further away from what made Gears a fantastic franchise (dudebro) stuff included.

They need to stop acting like sell outs and appealing to the COD crowd (that is not an insult, again look at my achievement list and you will see that I am part of that COD crowd) and get back to the roots of what made Gears great.

Umm, how is Gears trying to appeal to the CoD crowd?

The campaign in Gears 3 was good. It had great set pieces, characters, better story line (I loved that level where cole had a flashback to his football days), and solid gameplay.

The multiplayer had dedicated servers, constant support, bots, and the game was balanced. The only thing that you could argue wasn't balanced was the sawed off, and MAYBE the digger (the game focuses on cover, but the digger removes that choice).

They also listened to the fans and added a mode like Team Deathmatch. I've been playing Gears since 06', and I love to sometimes play TDM or go play execution.

I felt Gears 3 was a solid game. Why do you think Epic were sell outs?

I loved how the Gears characters acted, I mean how should they have acted? Gears has been one of the best new IP's this generation and the reason people love it and were attracted to the series is because of the characters and interesting stories.

I enjoyed all of the games, but Gears 3 was the cream of the crop for me personally. I was only disappointed that we didn't get the story on Baird, but now with Judgment, we get to see his story too. What a way to end the Xbox 360's life cycle!

I'm just going to disagree because you are you.

nukeitall2282d ago

I personally love Gears of War. GoW 3 is by far one of the best games I played this generation.

I only wish more people played it!

Dude I loved Cole Trains visit to his hometown. That cut scene were he remembers the past? Amazing.

taquito2282d ago (Edited 2282d ago )

make UT4 instead, gears is so....mehhh

the first was awesome, more so on pc, after playing gears in 1080p with 8x aa at 60 frames on pc, going to gears 3 on 360 was like going backand playing ps2 after years of ps3 play

Gears 3 is where it's at! I can't go back and play the previous ones too long, they feel too stiff nowadays no matter what platform.

Dude, with all respect isn't there some PC discussion board you can go to? We all know the average gaming PC is far more capable than any console, ok? In fact, the PC I am on right now is pretty dated and games still look better than their console counterparts. But I still prefer consoles, and it is what it is. Chill.

I second this.....but pleassse don't make it anything like UT3, that game was utter trash! Unreal Tournament was my first xbox live experience waaaaay back and was one of the funnest times I had online. Now I avoid online.
