Bayonetta Fans Make Me Ashamed of Being a Gamer

GotGame: Nintendo has been developing quite a relationship with Platinum Games, who have been great supporters of Nintendo over the years with games like Viewtiful Joe, Mad World, and the upcoming Wonderful 101, and they likely disagreed with Sega on the financial viability of Bayonetta 2. So, Nintendo agreed to publish the game and assume the risks involved in that.

more like console fans.

The response from Bayonetta "fans" was putrid.

I am definitely happy and pleasantly surprised by Nintendo's new drive to take risks and be aggressive in supporting devs and projects like this.

This gives me a very strong reason to own a WiiU.

Bravo Nintendo. Hopefully this will be the start of something incredible and a more N64-like system rather than a Gamecube or Wii.

Well said dude, I feel the same way except the wii u will be the first Nintendo machine Ive got since the snes!

I can understand them being upset over the announcement[death threats are too extreme].They have to realize it's not Platinum fault.SEGA scrapped the game because they seen no reason to produce a sequel based on sales of the original.Shit i wish some publisher would do the same with Shenmue 3 to be honest..I'd rather the game see daylight instead of just being a dream blowing in the wind..

Yeh why are they mad at ninty? Its possible that if Ninty hadnt made this move it would never get released so why are they so mad? I just dont get it :(

But i dont think this is the attitude of gamers but more so the internet in general.

Imagine if Nintendo picks up Shenmue 3... the uproar would be massive!

NovusTerminus2281d ago (Edited 2281d ago )

I don't get it at all. The fans wanted the game, no one was going to publish it. If not for Nintendo, the game would have never been made.

So be happy, you are getting it at least. Better then being canceled.

EDIT: Okay, if VGchartz is to be believed, it sold almost 2mil... I don't understand why Sega would drop it...

Sega are in a bad position financially. The fact they are dedicating their resources to downloadable games which are cheaper kind of says it all.

and no one buys their games. Yakuza, valkyria chronicles, Binary Domain, Vanquish, all which were by no means terrible games. Blame it on consumers that didn't give a darn about Sega games.

NovusTerminus2281d ago

I have VC, Vanquish, my brother got Alpha Protocal, and also I got Resonace of Fate (Which EVERYONE forgot about)

Sega has this bad habit of releasing their games alongside of major game releases.

Yakuza came out the same day as FFXIII
RoF came out the same day (And a week after FFXIII) as GoWIII.

Most gamers got Gow and FF in those weeks... because they have a name. So why did Sega release two lesser known games then?

Sega has great games that would be better noticed in the slower parts of the year. after March and before the holiday rush.

Those weren't Bayonetta fans they were ps360 fanboys.
