Looks like Nintendo will be dominating the gaming news and world for the rest of the year. Even people that I know don't like video games are talking Wii U right now.

You exaggerate so. No one i know even knows it exists and educated consumers who already have a current gen system see,no need to buy it. What will save it is it's cheap price point bcus it def isn't an upgrade.
i'm excited for this console, but not before 1 or 2 years when the online will be fully operational and some Nintendo exclusives have been released and of course the price has to go down a bit as well.

I'm not crazy about all of them, but I can't deny a lot of them look fun.
Give it 1-2 years and the graphics on these games will noticeably improve.
It takes time to learn how to properly use the hardware effectively EX: Halo 4 > Reach > Halo 3 in terms of graphics on the xbox 360.
