Activision has thrown its full weight behind Nintendo's Wii U with a quartet of games led by its flagship shooter Call of Duty.
Activision publishing executive Eric Hirshberg stood on Nintendo's stage at a special press conference in New York to state that Wii U owners will get "the full Call of Duty" experience.

Great move from Nintendo, convincing Activision to put Blops 2 on the system, however, Firstly, nobody is going to buy the system for BLOPS 2 because they already have PS3 or 360 or PC. Secondly, PS3/360 will always be bogging the Wii U down even if it can handle better graphics (which is likely considering 1GB of ram), because the "multiplatform goal" is almost always to make console versions of the game look as similar as possible.
On a console released in 2012 it should have 1080p every game. Unless on new tech engines.
Sure Full HD term is silly, but in terms of marketing they will come up with a new name for 1440p when it becomes standard. Sure its been around for awhile, but only recently has it been performing at a decent level of framerate.

1080p native on WiiU. Sure it might not look different than PS3/X360 versions right now, but when you look at that same game engine that you have seen for the past 6 years you will see that small pebble in the corner of the map at new detail unlike you have ever seen it. ha
There might be a difference between PS3/X360 and WiiU version, but at the moment there is no clear visual difference shown. It is likely that porting from PS3/X360 version might have hindered any chance of a real visual upgrade or perhaps they have not shown us a close up of the game for us to determine the real graphics quality.
Well considering most of your gamers play on a HDTV that only support 1080p. Then yes 1080p is full HD in that respect. And has been for quite a while to console gamers and HDTV users.
Maybe you just had to throw out "PC", to take a stab. On thing is for sure, were talking about consoles and Tv's and not PC and monitors. So yes full HD is 1080p.

This is freaking cod black ops 2, a game thats been using the same engine since cod4!
By the way, an ati 4850 could run cod4 with everything at max at around 44fps @ 1920x1200... So why in the world would it not run @ full hd?

1080p is the "full HD" for TV's. It's not referring to computers screens.
meaning soemthing they havent been able yet to achieve with ps360 hardware.
regardless of if it looks better to you personally or not it is technically doing something that wasnt possible previously on home consoles with this engine.
minimize it though, it makes the ps3 360 look better.
It doesnt bring the cows home graphically but it does show that there is more than twice the hardware capability available to treyarch... or is it activision given many of thier games have been 640 or below.

Same goes for games. Using a higher res does not make the picture look better, just allows for a higher pixel count.
How it's possible to get excited for a game where you know EXACTLY how it will play and look is beyond me.
I seriously hope COD doesn't survive the jump to next gen, substantially more developers and great titles out there that deserve the money that steaming pile earns.

That isn't a new game, that's what every other franchise calls "DLC", by your standards, would it be OK if DICE released the Vietnam DLC for BC2 as an entire release called BC3 at £45/$60?

With Sony launching a 12gb ps3 soon and most likely both ms and Sony will drop prices most big publishers will out their games on wiiu but most of their sales and fan base will be on ps3 and xbox360.
I am usually excited for every new system but wiiu hasn't done much for me personally, I am guessing Zelda in HD will do it for me but not sure when that will launch.
COD has never looked beautiful since maybe MW1 so I don't think graphics are a strong part of COD games.
Let's see how he launch goes and how future support from 3rd parties. It's a fact that 3rd party publishers and Nintendo haven't seen eye to eye so this is a big IF so while launch games are there lets see how support holds up. I hope Nintendo gets along with 3rd party publishers because usually they care abut their 1st party games and everything else didn't matter but let's hope it's different with wiiu
Alot of people who own a Vita also own a PS3, so if they sell well on Vita they are problably taking away from the PS3. The customer gotta choose right?? hmm BO2 for my PS3 or BO:Declassified for my Vita.

im sure if Activision dig deep into there greedy little heart they could have updated graphics that rival BF3 and some decent destruction (like BFBC2) and then it could go up against BF until then, i love both games but it terms of quality im going for BF3.
