Wow it comes with an HDMI cord? That's interesting.

Yes but ofc! An HDMI cable, which the machine needs to run, is not something that you should send along with ur machine. No, its an amazing addition to the package!

*sarcasm*

rather have the basic wii-U package with SNES type controller than IPAD controller.

Dear god.... Nintendo is not going down a good path with "premium" package. Casuals are very much into convenience, at least that's what I think, and those extra items included in the premium-package are really convenient items to have. But initially casuals will look at the price and buy the cheapest package. I think casuals would be more inclined to buy more games if they had those extra items. But this is all just my opinion :P

I guess a good thing about the WiiU is that the audience isn't or does not feel limited to a majority of casual gamers.

Actually half of "Nintendo's Console Audience" was made up of "Casual Gamers" with the Wii. On average a Nintnedo console sell's around 50 million units. The Wii is almost at 100 Million, due to the casual audience.

That being said, the Wii-U is exactly what I expected. It's just like the Wii was to the PS2 and Gamecube, and that's fine for what Nintendo needs done. It took some work, but here's some specs. and benchmarks I came up with.

576 GFLOPS of Processing (PS3 = 400GFLOPS, & Xbox 360 = 240GFLOPS)

1GB GPU memory, 1GB Wii-U system memory (PS360 = 512MB)

Optical Blu Ray disc (Hey Sony!)

Runs Current gen games

Far Cry 2: 720p @ 60fps (Medium Settings aka PS360)
1080p @ 53fps (Medium Settings aka PS360)

Crysis 1: 720p @ 60fps (Low Settings)
1080p @ 42fps (Low Settings)

Call of Duty: MW2 720p @ 60fps (High Settings aka above PS360)
1080p @ 46fps (High Settings aka above PS360)

Fallout 3: 720p @ 90fps (High Settings aka above PS360)
1080p @ 72fps (High Settings aka above PS360)

Left 4 Dead: 720p @ 90fps (High Settings aka above PS360)
1080p @ 60fps (High Settings aka above PS360)

Dirt 2: 720p @ 46fps (Ultra settings, 62fps in Medium aka PS360)
1080p @ 30fps (Ultra settings, 46fps in Medium aka PS360)
720p @ 30fps (Ultra setting / DX11)

CPU= ?????
GPU= 40% improvement + DX11 capable
RAM= 4x PS360

The Wii-U should be between 2x - 4x as powerful as the PS360. Now it's time to see some exclusives that'll take advantage of the hardware.

my only question is why cant i get a the system with a dedicated harddrive that can be upgradeable like my PS3? why do i have to go the extra mile to get more space?

either way ill purchase a wii u 6mths-1yr after it launches

ChickeyCantor1474d ago (Edited 1474d ago )

If they added a harddrive the price would have gone up. Instead, for that additional money you can buy a 1Tb EHDD and still be cheaper out in the end.

( And I'm pretty sure a "dedicated" harddrive wouldn't even be near 1Tb )

Erm, pretty sure you could get a pretty big HDD for a hell of a lot less than they are charging for that memory.

a PS3 super slim announcement and a release in october will destroy the Wii U.
32GB come on what can i use it for ? And the price... No need for comment.

an HDMI cable costs 2 bucks and i have a whole set of HDMI cables at home. I will definitely wait for a bigger machine storage in a few years bundled with Zelda.

nevin11474d ago

You cant get the black wii u without buying the premium?

shgadlic1474d ago

this was the case with the xbox 360 wlite remember?
