Nintendo takes steps to reduce use of conflict minerals in Wii U

"Nintendo says that the companies that make the 3DS, Wii and Wii U for them have promised that those consoles will not be made with conflict minerals, the minerals found in an array of electronics including video game consoles and used to fund the bloody, brutal war in the Congo.

'All production partners have agreed to comply with our guidelines," a Nintendo spokesperson told Polygon. "Further, we have obtained individual confirmation from each production partner that they agree not to use conflict minerals.'", writes TheVerge. (3DS, Industry, Nintendo DS, Wii, Wii U)

it all comes down to money. if you are interested in this topic further you can check out "blood in the mobile" or "blood coltan".

do not miss the scenes in blood in the mobile when he crawls into the cave with the miners. it will blow your mind.

kudos to nintendo for at least trying, though not much can be done.

Nintendo is big on doing great stuff like this that should make the Green Peace and Culturally Aware people wet themselves.

Kudos to them for continually, doing these things DESPITE being Panned for recognition- in fact, I remember the very energy efficient Wii being given a bad score by Green Peace in 2008-

-Anyway, my politics are different but I still applaud people who take care of the Earth and even more take care of other PEOPLE (by not supporting corrupt governments).
