Meet 'Fuse,' the game formerly known as Insomniac's 'Overstrike' | Verge Preview

After more than a year of radio silence from Insomniac, the studio behind Ratchet & Clank and Resistance, the developer is finally willing to talk, revealing a comprehensive makeover of the game formerly known as Overstrike. Since its unveiling at last year's E3, the game has transformed into a title that builds its near-future fiction not around the special ops agents of the Overstrike organization, but around an alien element codenamed Fuse. (Fuse, PS3, Xbox 360)

I don't know. It still sounds interesting, but it sounds like Insomniac is TRYING to be Insomniac, but EA is sitting there going "no go this route."

The thing is, look at how Syndicate bombed and EA is basically trying it again with a name brand studio...Insomniac had a good twist to it, and it sounded extremely awesome, now it feels more mainstream and "safe" I guess....It went from "out there" to "dry humor and a safe style of gameplay" in my eyes.

I'll play it simply because I trust Insomniac will do something to make it above average like always, i'm just sad EA isn't letting them go and just trusting them.

"but but but they didn't blame EA" who does? EA pays their bills, they either eat it and say THEY chose this route, or call out EA and get screwed.
