"Way back in 1997, Turok: Dinosaur Hunter created a storm when it was released on the Nintendo 64. Loosely based on a comic book character from the 1950's, Turok along with Goldeneye created a legacy of great shooters for the N64 . A sequel, Turok: Seeds of Evil followed in 1998 and while it did some things differently, it was still well received. Unfortunately, the time-travelling warrior hit a road block with the rather ordinary Turok: Rage Wars and Turok 3: Shadows of Oblivion. In a last ditch attempt save the name and possibly themselves, long-time publisher Acclaim set out with the retelling of the story in Turok: Evolution. The game wasn't that well received and shortly afterwards, Acclaim went bust and it seemed that Turok was lost to the ages".
