Maybe so, but i hope Konami didnt shut down MGO 2's servers just to re-use those same crappy, laggy, easily-hackable, horrible-net-code-having servers for MGO 3. They need to dump that server and start fresh. Hopefully they can bring back MGO 2 (but on psn servers only) so we can play that while we wait for MGO 3....
MGO without the insane work around to get it installed, make it simple and one click to log onto the MP and this will rocket. MGO was an amazing MP experience, it deserves recognition.
Unfortunately, I think that the depth of gameplay and steep learning curve that comes with a game like MGO will be too much to cope with for the masses that have absorbed dumbed down games like COD and BF for so long.
If it's not as simple as point and shoot, people will be turned off by it, I remember a lot of players 'punching the air' instead of shooting when MGO2 started lol. I also suspect that younger players won't be as capivated by the game if they aren't being constantly rewarded for their actions by having points flash up on screen or killstreaks to aim for.
We can just hope that Konami hype the shit out of the game and make it simple to access so that as many people as possible actually try it, then hope that some people just 'get it', while the masses while probably go back to COD. A few thousand fresh players would be a success by MGO standards anyway.
