Pros & Cons of Limited Editions of Games Like CoD and Halo

As the title implies this article discusses the advantages and disadvantages or buying limited edition versions of popular games such as Modern Warfare 3 or Halo Reach. Are the extra bells and whistles worth paying $20 to $100+ more for? Do developers provide true value or just a bunch of junk for gamers? This article talks about it all.

well those are not limited editions because activision makes them in millions.Limited is something that is made in very low numbers not in the million packages!

Incorrect. Limited means there is only a finite amount made and available for sale not continuous production like the regular edition will have.

Once it is gone, it is gone.

I am then free to say that my product is a limited edition and has limited availability as it is _limited_ to 100 million units.

This is very true. But, they do still label them as being limited editions in most cases. Limited editions, special editions etc.

Yeah, if you're a diehard fan and have the cash to spare they can be pretty cool. Some have been lame, but others do give you a few cool items to celebrate the series.
