Has Lara Croft Lost Her Crafty Attitude?

The change in Lara Croft is a disputable topic among fans of the Tomb Raider series. This is a series that grew to be one of the most iconic in the industry and yet with the upcoming Tomb Raider game in 2013, players have seen a dramatic change in protagonist, Lara Croft. For an already bound to be hit, the question of why Tomb Raider took such a noticeable change is still not completely clear past the point of realism. She has undergone a noticeable make-over as well as a complete attitude change; presumably to make the game seem as realistic as possible. When in previous games of the Tomb Raider series Lara had a flair about her that made her an idol to her fans, the new release has made an immense change in her character that fans fear she has lost that memorable attitude. This has gamers wondering if these large changes where actually what fans wanted from a new Tomb Raider game and will that personality change make Lara more likable or have her be perceived as somewhat ordinary? (PC, PS3, Tomb Raider, Xbox 360)

She has lost everything that ever once made her lara! it makes me so mad that they could do this to such a loved character. I mean the game looks dramatic and all but what happened to the fearless lara we all once knew!?!

Prequel. This has been stated. She wasn't born a badass. She had to experience fear to become fearless.

i rather consider it as a reboot.

Did we really need a prequel?

Think about this. People like Darth Vader, not kid Anakin Skywalker.

That's the problem with prequels that go too far back on the timeline and lose characteristics that made a series what it is today.

It might be a good game, but...will it be a Tomb Raider game? Doesn't feel like a TR anymore to me.

Somebody forgot to tell this guy that this game takes place before the first tomb raider. Not to mention that this is also Lara's origin story. -_-

Yeah, it's not like they're saying old Lara no longer exists. This is just saying, "Hey, this is how she got to be the badass she is."

People complain too much about too much.

She is a whiner now

Honestly now some people posing as writers are really stupid, they simply create misleading headlines and articles then the next dumb gullible person comes along and believes it's for real.

I am actually looking forward to the prequel. Lara is such an amazing character that I would like to know how she came to be so badass. It will add shine much needed depth to her character. Also, if the story is told properly her character will have a noticeable arc.
