Dead Space 3 aiming for “quad-A” with series evolution

Dead Space 3 executive producer Steve Papoutsis says Visceral is going above and beyond “triple-A” with the horror sequel.

Yea its EA again trying to cash in on the success of other publishers game types. The same happened to Burnout. If they wanted a quad A game then they should have just improved on wat was already a superb formula.

Dead Space 1 is a 10/10 game.

I mean did they not learn from Capcom mistakes...least Capcom established the RE franchise for years and years before they ruined it and gave fans the middle finger.

I mean I know theres people who are obviously going to say "Give it a chance" but what is the point we've seen this happen before with a horror game, it was called Resident Evil 5, despite giving us the option for co-op the horrible character your with is still in the story and the levels are still designed around co-op.

if the game sale less than 2mil they will cancel the franchise..from the direction the game went ? its a good thing

the negative side tho is that the team of DS will probably die just like other companies EA had

I still think everyone is judging it waaay too early. Don't get me wrong, I don't want them to screw it up either because I love 1 & 2 but it's the same team behind it so I'm giving them the benefit of a doubt.

As you can see, they're leaving a lot of what makes Dead Space great intact. Visceral just doesn't want to become predictable and make another game where you "Walk around a space ship/station and shoot limbs". If Dead Space 3 took place entirely in another ship or station I think it would be pretty stale.

I'll remain optimistic until Visceral releases a game that doesn't live up to the previous Dead Space entries. DS3 could be that game, but for now I'm excited.

Sorry but who wouldn't like that.

Return to the Ishimura was the best level in Dead Space 2. Besides wouldn't it be better to make a Marker base like the inside of a space ship instead of having it so open and non scary.

It's not that hard to create and improve what we've experienced before instead of changing everything what made the game great.

Singleplayer: Campaign that takes 2 weeks of total play time to beat
Unlockables: Peng Skin, EA CEO skin, Tommy Gun, Boxing Gloves (finish blows explode the monsters to pieces or knock them back really far)

Lol. Yeah I agree with that translation. I remember seeing Steve Papoutsis on stage ages ago when they were bringing DS1 out, and I quite liked his enthusiasm for the game. He seemed to genuinely love gaming.

But having seen him showing off DS3 in E3 and on one of the preview videos I saw, he just annoys the hell out of me. All he goes on about is 'freaking awesome' this and 'super cool' that.
