How will Microsoft and Sony respond to the Wii U launch?

Yeah, I can go with that. Baring in mind the amount of MOVE games, I'd also add in a few MOVE pack bundles too and a HUGE advertising campaign for Book Of Spells. Those Harry Potter fans are ripe for the picking
its been a while since they have had an original idea ill give you that buuuuuut i dont see a problem with anyone copying anyone as long as the clone is better than the original and from functionality alone, move works better than the wii
1. Price drops of both PS3 and XBOX 360. We may even see a temporary price cut on Vita or more bubdles.
2. Sony looks to be more in line with coming out with tactics against the Wii U. A new slimmer PS3 model is rumored. Games like Little Big Planet Karting, Wonderbook and Playstation All Stars and other all age games seem to be coming this Fall with less emphasis on more serious games like The Last of Us and Beyond until after the Wii U launches.
3. Both Sony and Microsoft will respond likely next year with new hardware of their own. Both companies will also try and reach a broader userbase and also push multiple sceen/device technology.
Wii U would look so much better September 13 I hope. Ps3 new slim Sony held back with all those pretty good new and returning IPs. Xbox 360 will release the blu ray model gasp(what model doesn't red ring again)! MS can pull out their @$$ a new game besides retired games.
It does not matter how MS and Sony responds. The current consoles are better than the Wii U and its not even out yet. Otherwise this topic would be titled

I dont have time to play any wii u games with all the good stuff coming out on current gen.. When im done, nx gen will be shown & ill be moving on to those
I think it depends on the price point at which the Wii U launches at. If its $299 or less, I don't think Sony or Microsoft could really do much. I suppose a slight price cut, but I think even that would be like putting a band-aid on a bullet hole the size of a bowling ball.
The early adopters to the Wii U are all going to be hardcore gamer's, the ones that absolutely MUST have new hardware right away. Cheaper prices on 7 and 6 year old hardware respectively isn't going to make people hold off on buying a Wii U.
This isn't the same day and age where a company can say "It doesn't start until we say so". There just isn't that type of brand loyalty anymore. I do think Microsoft and Sony could come out and announce their new consoles, but that would cause a drastic drop in current console sales and with Microsoft having Halo 4 releasing in November, I don't see them announcing the 720 until April, 2013. Sony probably wouldn't want to announce the PS4 for fear of the same type of effect for big games like God Of War Ascension and Last Of Use.
Effectively, they have to bite the bullet and bide their time.
since microsoft and sony does not innovate....they will probably copy the wiiu gamepad like with the motion control and their fanboys will all of the sudden be on board
Aggressive marketing on price drops, thus rendering the Wii U invisible to the casual market and making the PS3 and Xbox really enticing to people without those consoles.
Do they really need to respond? At this point Nintendo is the company that needs to get people to buy the new console, new games for console, and new gadgets for new console. I don't think either xbox or playstation need to be to concerned because for the most part there fans are waiting for there next consoles... not witch everone comes out first. I'm a playstation gamer and thats were my concern is,for what Playstation does with PS4, and the price of PS4, and what games are coming out for PS4
they will do what they have been doing all along, releasing 7 year old games on 7 year old hardware with 7 year old jaggies and 7 year old pop-in and 7 year old screen tear and 7 year old sub-hd and 7 year old bad shadows and 7 year old framerates all the trappings of last gen ps3/360/wii games
lets hope nintendo actually releases a console that does a somewhat modern 1080p at 60 frames with anti aliasing that works
doubt it will, but one can always hope, or game on pc where games actually look good.
Nintendo is damn near Apple now in brand loyalty. WiiU will sell millions even if it ships with a steaming pile of aardvark terds in the box. -vituralboy Nintendo always makes great systems and games.
I dont knw how they'll respond, but let me tell u this: They ALREADY know the SPECS, PRICING, down to the fine dirty details abt Nintendo's Wii.
The TRUTH is , there are NO Console gaming wars, & never really has been, its like politics, giving you the Illusion of "choice", yet both sides are CONTROLLED by the SAME "Super Elite", & its the Media's Job to sell the illusion to the unsuspecting Public or sheeple, serfs as theyd call you.

Microsoft will try to push Kinect in some way...
for microsoft a kinect bundle?
Who'd they steal Blu Ray from?
Who'd they steal a multimedia console from?

HDMI output?
Dual analog controller?
And most of those are from this gen. I'm sure there are some others, too.

Sony innovates with new IP software, they innovate hardware in power.
At this point Nintendo is the company that needs to get people to buy the new console, new games for console, and new gadgets for new console.

poor E3,lack of third party,another 100 mario games for another 5-6 years wont do for me.
nintendo is for casuals and kids so i wont bother with it
