Resident Evil 6 Anthology On PS3 Or RE6 Archives On Xbox 360 – Which Is The Better Deal?

When Resident Evil 6 launches on October 2nd, it will be accompanied by two different special editions in the form of Resident Evil 6 Anthology on PS3 and Resident Evil 6 Archives on Xbox 360. Both of these will retail for $89.99 and they include quite a few different Resident Evil games (and even a movie) along with them. For those of you who own both a PS3 and Xbox 360 and want to know which is the better deal, we break it down for you.

- Trendy Gamers (PS Vita, PS3, PSP, Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil 3: Nemesis, Resident Evil 5, Resident Evil 6, Resident Evil: Code Veronica X HD, Resident Evil: Director's Cut, Xbox 360)

was this piece written by a child. it read like it.
however. The obvious so called better deal isnt what a sony fan thinks it is as in the writers words, it's whatever sounds best to you or if you only have 1 choice then thats it. Both are incredible deals to me and im very happy as code veronica was and is still my fav Rez evil game. Yes it would of been nice if both sets were the same but since they arent so what again their both great so DONT WORRY BE HAPPY.

edit ya know why this site has become a joke at times? Reply with a piece that says all is good but little but hurt fans of a different console than mine will automaticaly disagree bc my name is xgamer. lol sad sad little kids. I could write a piece and say that grass is green and still get a disagree. hahaha.

I dont really know what you got against this site. Alls the guy did is list out the facts. I actually wish more articles were like this. I mean as a resident evil fan.. i would rather have access to 1, 2 and 3. I gotta agree with the author.. its a better deal. Xbox fans kinda get the shaft on this one since none of those are on 360.
StanSmith  +   741d ago
You probably got disagrees because you called out the article for reading like it had been written by a child, yet you then proceed to butcher the English language yourself.

Just saying...
XGamer  +   741d ago
nope. each has something different to offer.
in fact i see so may sony fans saying they already have 1 2 and 3 so to have it again is a waste and you dont get code veronica so again each one has its better deal points and its always up to the buyer as both are more than worth it.

The site trendygames as many others will always write and choose a biased responce based on there fav console. Both good deals thus the correct article would be "here's what you get in each, choose your fav"..end of story as there is no better deal.....unless your a fan boy.
knowyourstuff  +   741d ago
Before you start criticizing the article for how well it is or isn't written, try upgrading your English and grammar skills to something above a 2nd grade level so people will take you seriously in the future.

The article is an opinion piece obviously, no one cares what your opinion is when you have a clear bias and no ability to think objectively.
fuzion17c  +   741d ago
Dafuq? XGamer mad. The article itself says that Code Veronica can be purchased on PSN for $19.99.

ArronC07  +   741d ago
@XGamer love the criticism that the article is poorly written when your comment literally stings my eyes with its terrible syntax and grammar.

Well done!
hkgamer  +   741d ago
I agree with you.
It was a poorly written article.
I would like to say that degeneration was a pretty good movie in my opinion. But how this article was written badly was that it made no sense.

He clearly went through all the hardwork to find the prices of each game, but then suddenly says that movie sucks so it is priceless and it is better to have a PS3 then a 360.

I mean I could in a way go for the 360 version because it has the movie on a disk and then purchase the RE1-3 on the PSN store. He is meant to be comparing the boxset, not the console itself.

Side note: Has it ever been mentioned that RE6 is on 2 disks on the 360?
tordavis  +   741d ago
If you have both consoles you have to spend $19.99 to get what you don't have. So actually, if you are a dual console owner, it's better to get the Xbox bundle and then buy RE1, 2 and 3 on PSN. You end up getting everything and the movie. If you buy the PS3 bundle and buy Code Veronica on PSN for $19.99, you are still without the movie. I'm assuming this article is informational for single console owners, but he's targeting multiconsole owners who can't decide which one to get.
svoulis  +   740d ago
You do realize the disagrees are from your ignorance and not fanboys. You are only putting yourself deeper in the hole as well.

For example. The article was not written by a "child" and it certainly didn't seem like it was.

You are just upset that the author said the PS3 version was better because...well...it comes with Resident evil 1-6. The 360 does not. It's that simple. If you were going to buy a box set such as Alien Anthology, would you be ok with only getting the first 2 movies because they were simply the best one, and still call it an anthology? I wouldn't and I think everyone can agree.

Long post short. Even though you are getting a good amount of games for the price on both. The PS3 offers more games. More importantly the games that put Resident Evil on the map.
GrahamGolden  +   740d ago
ps3 has the best deal buddy sry

the best res games of the franchises are in while the xbox has only code name veronica

i choose res1
res2
res3 anyday anytime anywhere over code name veronica

I don't think either one is a particularly good deal in that they should have stuffed everything they could onto a disc or two and then sold it instead of making something stupid like that gives the finger to people who may not have the chance to get everything and now they still don't, or could have had everything to play on one console and now they can't.

I agree, pixelsword. Bundles like this just seem to add fuel to the so-called "fanboy/girl" "console war" nonsense.
ALLWRONG  +   741d ago
Don't PS3 fans usually boycott everything from Capcom?

Why the flip flop?
Xperia_ion  +   740d ago
People are just saying the PS3 choice is better, doesn't mean they're going to buy it.
andrewsqual  +   740d ago
Who cares, all the games bar RE6 are digital in these "Collections". I would take a reprint of RE1-4 on disc anyday. But if 5 or 6 even touch the other games in it, then go fuck yourself.
Carl_Shocker  +   741d ago
Are they serious...they couldn't throw in Code Veronica for the PS3, what was the point of that, is it just so MS don't get p*ssed off, your getting DLC earlier isn't that enough.

Not like I'm buying this anyway but I just feel like it's a silly move.
ABizzel1  +   741d ago
I agree Carl from Johnny Bravo.

If you have PS+ then you already have Resident Evil 1 - 3. They should have put Code Veronica HD in the PS3 version as well. I would have though about buying this had it been included.
Carl_Shocker  +   741d ago
"I agree Carl from Johnny Bravo."

Well look at that, someone clicked on who he was...finally :)

@Carl

The episode with him and Vandala (The Talk Show superhero) came on Boomerang recently, so that's how I remembered who it was.
hkgamer  +   741d ago
I actually think the 360 is a better deal, I liked the movie and you also get Code Veronica X.

The article was just poorly written and it should have mentioned that PS+ members get RE1-3 already.

Well, I guess this is a US thing only, so it wont matter to me. I also can't play PSone games on my PS3 so even if this package does get released it would be pointless for me.
NYC_Gamer  +   741d ago
Both packages are full of solid content either way
adorie  +   741d ago
if by content, you mean "fecal matter" then I totally agree.

Gamecould be good, but Capcom doesn't deserve to thrive any more.

For the disagrees; "come at me bro"
BringingTheThunder  +   741d ago
how is re4 or re5 fecal matter?
GrahamGolden  +   740d ago
its obvious they doing this for the game to sale so they can brag later "hey gamers look how much our game sales"
ape007  +   741d ago
im with the 360 version, cause i like achievements more than trophies but ps3 is awesome too

ShaunCameron  +   741d ago
If it wasn't a multidisc game, I'd take the 360 version. Agreed on Achievements>>>>&g t;>>>>>>>& gt;>>>>>>Trop hies.
pixelsword  +   741d ago
I'm curious ape; how are achievements better than trophies? From what I can tell, they both pretty much do the same thing, except there's a ranking system for the trophies (if that matters to anyone).
XGamer  +   740d ago
many people fav achievments
because they also have a point value. for example i have a 21000 plus gamer score but yes they both have their own ranking system. He just prefers the points i guess.
ape007  +   740d ago
well it's more of an opinion than a fact, some like trophies more and some like achievements

the ps3 for me by default for having the first three RE games.

I actually want to buy the PS3 version, I am not sure if it's available for Australia, does anyone know?
FarCryLover182  +   741d ago
I'll pass on both. Already have the games on older systems. Don't want RE6.
TrendyGamers  +   741d ago
Didn't enjoy the demo that came in Dragon's Dogma?
Etackett2010  +   741d ago
Standard edition, I already own all the old RE games and Degeneration on Blu-ray so I don't need Anthology or Archives.
Chaotic_Lament  +   741d ago
LOL at this ridiculous article. Who approved this trash? Just because the movie is free on netflix doesn't mean netflix is free itself. The retail price of the movie is ~$5 according to google shopping.
TrendyGamers  +   741d ago
The first month of Netflix is free, though I did add the Xbox Live price of the movie.

That's an awesome deal if I get totally sick of the movie within thirty days.
WeskerChildReborned  +   741d ago
Anthology since it gives you most the games except for spin offs.
GamePodunk  +   741d ago
I was about to question why they were putting out a different special edition for each console, but I had forgotten that RE 1, 2, and 3 aren't available for Xbox in any capacity (I think), so it makes sense that they would try to pull in the movies to help cover that (plus making Code Veronica X exclusive to the 360 special edition).
cero55  +   741d ago
i would like re1gamecube remake for once
Bathyj  +   741d ago
I would much prefer RE 1,2&3 to Code Veronica but I'll actually probably get neither.
Ricdog  +   741d ago
I'll take Hitman HD Collection over both.

I don't trust capcom, greedy bastards will find some way to charge dlc for those games somehow.

Well, the 360 version is going to feature screen tearing and the PS3 will be fully v-synced just like every MT Framework game made. I'm getting the PS3 version.
trouble_bubble  +   741d ago
RE Code Veronica HD was a terrible HD port, and Degeneration was a terrible CG movie. RE1-3 however are preserved in their original forms and remain classics. No brainer. The only thing that would have sweetened the deal even more would have been to include Umbrella Chronicles and Darkside Chronicles on the PS3 side.
zu4G  +   741d ago
RESIDENT EVIL IS PLAYSTATION..
youre welcome..
SockeyBoy  +   741d ago
I've got RE1, on the Sega Saturn, and I've got RE2, RE3 and RE: CV on the Dreamcast...actually I don't know where I was going with this, I miss Sega consoles :'(
AngelicIceDiamond  +   741d ago
You can get all the what the 360 version offers plus timed DLC.

So you'll be sacrificing some HD remakes. Its up to the person really.
videoxgamexfanboy  +   741d ago
If ur new to the series and own both consoles then obviously ps3 is the way to go like mass effect on 360 is the way to go. But if u played them all before like I'm sure 90% of us have then I say go with 360. Either way I'm not buying this edition of the game ill stick with standard
YodaCracker  +   741d ago
Xbox is the way to go for Mass Effect because your character carries over from the first game, but why would PlayStation necessarily be the way to go for Resident Evil? No data carries over from the previous games. If anything, the Xbox 360 would be the better choice for the timed DLC.

Like I said if u never played any R.E. games then the ps3 is the way to go so you can have the first three games. That's why I said it. Got it? Good. And the only reason why I say to choose M.E. on 360 is for the same reason I say choose R.E. on ps3...not because of some character migration.
rbailey  +   741d ago
The PS3 Version is obviously the better version. For someone who doesn't have the other games in the series, this is obviously a no -brainer.

Xbox 360 Version is overall a disappointment in my opinion. That Degeneration movie is garbage.

-I think the people in charge of that site should use their money for more important things like getting the 15 Anniversary Edition that was released last year Japan, localized in the United States and Europe.
LUV_DA_BOPP  +   741d ago
i actually like degeneration, its a 100 times better than the movies with Milla Jovovich. just my opinion
Acquiesc3  +   741d ago
You get to play RE1-6 on PS3. RE1-3 > Code Veronica X & Degeneration movie any day. PS3 wins.
dragon82  +   741d ago
I am getting the standard PS3 version as I already own all these for PS3:

Resident Evil: Director's Cut
Resident Evil 2
Resident Evil 3: Nemesis
Resident Evil: Code Veronica X HD
Resident Evil 4 HD
Resident Evil 5
Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City

I still need to get:

Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles
Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles
