Top 10 anime and manga series based on video games

GZ: When a great game comes to an end, you either start a new one or scour the internet for more like what you just experienced. It's a common phenomenon. Maybe you look for fanfiction or some sort of additional content like developer interviews or any type of media that might give you insight into the events that may unfold after your time in that world has come to an end. Or perhaps you're not one to consistently enjoy video games, but do enjoy the characters or stories. No matter the case, there's a simple solution: choosing anime or manga based on the content instead. (Culture, Kingdom Hearts, Nintendo DS, PC, PS3, PSP, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Wii, Xbox 360, XenoSaga)

>No Disgaea
>No FF Unlimited

2/10

Even though I love DMC, the Anime was very lacking (epic 1st ep opening scene and epic intro).

I watched the first two episodes of the FF anime and it was S-H-I-T.

I would mention Star Ocean, Wild ARMs and, specially, Gungrave.

I agree with Gungrave.
Not the greatest game ever, had bad controls, graphics were mediocre, but I still enjoyed the game. Actually game should have been an anime to start with.

But that's beside the point, the anime was based on the game and is probably the best. Actually, gungrave is among one of my favourite anime.

Street Fighter 2 anime was pretty decent as well. Even V was alright.

Actually, I am still quite shocked that gungrave was not mentioned. Were the others mentioned really that good?

Don't really read manga but I've seen the whole of tales of the abyss, the first 12 episodes of the Persona anime and the first episode of DMC anime. Gungrave anime is easily better than Persona and DMC and I think me rating tales of the abyss higher is a personal preference than a general opinion. I can only assume Gungrave wasn't on the list because the author didn't think of it.

The pokemon Adventures/Special manga is MUCH better than the Pokemon:electric tale of pikachu counterpart.

Metal Gear Solid was made into a comic.
Virtua Fighter was made into an Anime.
Tekken has been made into movies and anime.
Street fighter has its own franchise of animes and movies.
Dead Space has been made into its movies and comics.
Assassin's Creed.
Halo.

This list sucks.

@DEATH agreed, the manga was epic till pokemon diamond and pearl. shame they are still making that Ash ketchum anime instead of Pokemon Adventure.

I love the art style of manga, instead everything having to be do with up to date technology it's nice that the simplistic drawings which great do much emotion are still around :)

Glad Tales of the abyss is on that list, haven't played the game but LOVED the anime.
