Carmack would like to bring Doom 3 BFG edition to Wii U, doesn't have the time

"'I wish that we could deploy this (Doom 3 BFG Edition) on a bunch of other code bases. I love platforms...I love looking for the fun things to do on different ones. I've been bringing up quietly at a bunch of the meetings, "You know, we could make a Vita version, a Wii U version, an iPhone/Android version." All of these would be reasonable platforms to take this technology. ...We do have a very busy development schedule and nothing else is really planned for that. - John Carmack'

Just because there's no time now doesn't mean there won't be time later. I really hope we see some id Wii U support in the future.", shares GoNintendo.

needs to find times that is all

Why should he waste his time putting the game on a new platform that probably not going to sell well. The audience that nintendo is going after would not buy this. They're more into games like Zumba fitness and just dance.

jjdoyle2081d ago

hahas hes find the time if nintendos pays him i think maybes that what he needs

Out of curiosity, does it ever get boring trolling Nintendo articles?

DivineAssault 2081d ago

Keep em coming girly.. U make me laugh every time i see your comments.. Careful tho, these ppl will take away your bubbles lmao.. They did to me

victoryscreeeeeech2081d ago

i could say the same for you. Why do you waste your time going on articles on the Wii U and say something negative about, if you are probably not going to get the console? oh and Nintendo fans are into games like Mario and Zelda. the hell is zumba fitness?

MasterCornholio2081d ago (Edited 2081d ago )

I believe you mean Wii Fit which ended up selling more than 20 million copies on the Wii.

Which surprisingly is more than double what the best game on the Wii sold.

The casuals might be into fitness and dance games but the core are a different story.

I'm pretty sure that many developers are uncertain of the Wii Us future. Many fanboys are expecting it to repeat the Wiis success but the truth is that it is a bit too early to determine its success or failure.

zebramocha2081d ago (Edited 2081d ago )

Weren't they bundling wii fit,so actual sold games count any way pointless article as this doesn't do much for them.

Time translates into resources, and he doesn't have enough for a Wii U port.

rbailey2081d ago

I believe the real question is would you rather he spend time on this or work on Doom 4?

DivineAssault 2081d ago

Damn lol.. Sometimes this site makes me LOL

BattleAxe2081d ago

I think alot of developers are thinking this way when it comes to the WiiU.

FlairSomewhere2081d ago

Just bear in mind there are exceptions!
(I know you said "a lot" and that is true)
But Ubisoft & 5th Cell and Platinum Games are still thinking full steam ahead.

Hazmat132081d ago

that would be good give a the wii u a hardcore game on launch. oh also is RAGE good?
