While it’a more or less been known for a while, we haven’t had much concrete confirmation that Bioshock Infinite is coming to the Wii U. However, a new report has seemingly come in, confirming that the game will indeed be heading to the Wii U.

That's bittersweet, to say the least. For one it's great the Wii U is getting more 3rd party support. On the other it's a shame that it doesn't seem to be taken very seriously.

NYC_Gamer4240d ago

The game was way into development for PS3/360/PC before the Wii-U was even announced.Third party games will be ported over later since production on them have already started on the current platforms available....

"Third party games will be ported over later since production on them have already started on the current platforms available...."

That's what I predicted on a article a while back, but people were saying no, no, no (with disagree).

I also mentioned COD could come early next year for Wii U and, I still believe that.

MaxXAttaxX4240d ago

I'm kidding, I really don't know if that's the case.
But was there an official reason why BioShock Infinite was delayed, or did I miss something?

Megaton4240d ago

Install base of 100+ million vs install base of zero. It shouldn't be taken as seriously for the time being.

PopRocks3594240d ago

You create an install base by making games. Or so people tell me every time I get into a debate about the Vita.

Megaton4240d ago

Yeah, and people are creating games. Doesn't mean everyone has to drop what they're doing and make Wii U ports. Some people don't have an abundance of resources to devote to all platforms at all times. I'm sure lots of companies are waiting to see how it does, and how many of their users actually buy core games before they start porting everything from the PS360.

PopRocks3594240d ago

Given statements made by Ubisoft that porting games to the Wii U is quick, easy and above all cheap I'm not really seeing how the resources thing is an issue, especially since it's a large scale publisher and not just a small time indie dev working on Bioshock Infinite.

linkratos4240d ago

If hardcore games (other than Nintendo's) don't come to the Wii U then neither will a substantial enough install base for future hardcore games. Developers are only shooting themselves in the foot by not helping draw hardcore gamers in now and creating another reliable clientele for future releases. It's a very short-sighted approach, and one that I've never understood.

DigitalAnalog4240d ago

Likewise, you have to understand that gaming console release always have PACKS of customers lining up to get first dibs. The fact that Bioshock Infinite is putting more emphasis in it (not to mention if done correctly) it becomes a more viable option to those new Wii-U owners who have very little choice in early release of games.

Even though Infinte is my most anticipated game for next year... its frustrating to see that the type of third party support the wiiU is getting is just late ports

I remember when the gamecube and the wii came out, there were games right there that I was excited to play... the wiiU is not the same

Is anyone dying to get a wiiU similar to how people were when the gamecube, wii and n64 came out? Nothing excites me.. and that is disappointing to me as a life long fan of nintendo.. hell even the 3ds.. which had a week launch line up made me buy it on release with the promise of zelda, paper mario, etc

The WiiU showed nothing that makes me want to buy the system right now

All the third party offerings (except for ubisoft with zombiU and Rayman) are just ports of games I played or will have played before the wiiU comes out, or before the game comes out for the system

Nothing new... which is very disappointing as it feels like the system is trying to play catch up with the PS3 and 360

Hopefully the infinite port fairs better than Arkham city, because from what I played AC on wiiU is inferior to AC on PS3, 360 and PC

metroid324239d ago

It will be a better bioshock or they wouldnt bother a better version of the same game.

ATi_Elite4236d ago

This was announced (accidentally) like a year ago!

the more, the merrier.

solidboss4240d ago

whats the point of the wii u if all of these 3rd party games are already out on console? batman assassins creed darksiders mass effect and now bioshock. the only difference is a gimicky control with their gimicky control pad. by the time these games are out were already looking forward to the 720 and ps4 so whats the point?

DivineAssault 4240d ago

Maybe there are some ppl who get nintendo consoles and nothing else.. IDK but it might be possible.. Let them have their excitement for a little bit bro.. In the next week, everything will be laid out for them concerning price n $hit.. I agree that most wouldnt want to wait until 2014 or so to play it tho.. Im not especially after i see nx gen consoles..

ALLWRONG4240d ago

Because with Wii U all games will probably look, and run a whole hell of a lot better than PS3/360.

I think PS3 fans fear the Wii U because it has the potential to end the PS3. A more powerful console that plays 3rd party games with a fair price. PS3 fans still cling to the hope that the PS3 will pull ahead.

Fact is the Wii U will be the most advanced console on the market, until the next Xbox and PS4. Wii U has a chance to take some impatient core gamers away from Xbox and PS.

"I think PS3 fans fear the Wii U because it has the potential to end the PS3. A more powerful console that plays 3rd party games with a fair price. PS3 fans still cling to the hope that the PS3 will pull ahead."

Yeah sorry the only thing that will end the ps3 is the ps4 launching and sony stopping development of it(ps3). Lol another sales analyst, funny i rarely hear gamers, complaining that they have nothing to play on the ps3/360.

But the wii i heard it often talked about, first place in hardware sales and last place in software lineup isn't king of anything for a gamer.

"Fact is the Wii U will be the most advanced console on the market, until the next Xbox and PS4(congradulations you made 1 point)."

"Wii U has a chance to take some impatient core gamers away from Xbox and PS."

That is so cute you really think ps3 and 360 gamers are going to spend $300+ on a in between generation system with a minor graphics bump.

The only people that will be buying it, are gamers that absolutely must have nintendo titles day 1. You nintendo guys are delusional if you think nintendo is going to take any significant chunk of ms/sony's core gamers.

Btw next gen has been around before this gen started, actual probably a full gen past the upcoming one, it's called a pc.

Why do you nintendo fanboys assume, that ps3/360 owners will flock to the "next gen" nintendo console, because it is more powerful than the ps3/360.

"Because with Wii U all games will probably look, and run a whole hell of a lot better than PS3/360."

Your seriously boasting about the wii u, having better graphics and/or performing better than 7-8 yr old consoles, which have been suffering from a lack of memory.

Damn that is hilariously stupid, can't wait for the ps4/xbox 720 to release it's specs, then i want to see how much nintendo fanboys are still bragging about the wii u's graphics/performance.

Btw if nintendo wants to get ps3 and 360 gamers, they better take their current online package and make it 2-3 times better. This is a group that will not accept a subpar online experience, not after they are used to psn and live.

So if the wii u is such a beast, why is it still afraid to show off what it can do or what it has to offer.

ALLWRONG4240d ago

Well I guess my comment made an impact

MaxXAttaxX4240d ago (Edited 4240d ago )

If you were a Wii-only owner this gen, then I see why you might care about old multiplatform games everyone else on current gen consoles(PS3/360) and PC has played.

But realistically speaking, the Wii U is launching 7 years late at the end of the current gen cycle. Too close to the real next gen of consoles to care about things like the gamepad. Need new core Mario game(that isn't a NewSMB remix), Zelda, SSB, Star Fox and a proper Metroid game to appeal to me.

jboy4240d ago (Edited 4240d ago )

I think you are correct in what u say and totally agree with you

"Eat it Fanboys"

metroid324240d ago (Edited 4240d ago )

The developers behind porting ME3 to wiiu have 2 original games in development for wiiu a crytek partner has a CE3 game in development,Aliens wiiu will be far superior 1080p better graphics and gameplay/modes,Fifa wiiu best looking version,Ancel says BGAE2 could run on wiiu, then u have Metroid prime 4,Smash bros 4 and an original Zelda coming t both wiiu/3ds,Ubisoft have 2 secret projects,MH4G is wiiu bound,Black ops 2.

To name a few also the wiiu has lots of Nextgen games in development as we speak Nintendo have said as much expect to
learn of most of these over this month.

Oh many devs have said its a powerful powerful console and its defo Nextgen plus Nintendo said it uses Greenhill which in my eyes means the rumours of the beefed up E6760 is true and fanboys will die when then see Metroid 4 on wiiu.

Top 10 Rarest Xbox 360 Games That Are Worth a Fortune

Twinfinite: “War may never change, but the prices of rare games do!”

"And lastly, famous Boston Red Sox pitcher Curt Schilling helped to create the action-RPG’s setting. What’s really fascinating, though, is that the game was partially financed by taxpayers from Rhode Island (which allegedly lost the state millions of dollars). Yikes!"

1. Now infamous Schilling
2. No allegedly, it did. And they couldn't pay it back.
3. What really lost the money wasn't the SP release but the MMO they were working on. This was supposed to be an introduction into the MMO world.

Soy267d ago

I hate counting limited editions for these lists. I mean, they're made to be rare and expensive. It's far more interesting to hear about the NCAAs (even if most people know that one already) and the El Chavos than some massive hit that came with a $200 statue at retail.

gamerz267d ago

Me too. Here's the best I can do:

El Chavo Kart $90.14
NCAA Football 14 $87.72
Spiderman: Edge of Time $75.94
Spiderman Web of Shadows $75.09
Spiderman: Shattered Dimensions $67.76

Christopher266d ago

Wow, El Chavo Kart is not at all what I expected by the name. 100% looks like a Sackboy Kart game.

Soy266d ago

It's so odd that so many Spider-Man games are seemingly given lower print runs, even if they're not the best games.

jznrpg267d ago (Edited 267d ago )

Most Xbox games don’t hold as much value compared to other systems. Kameo, Blue Dragon, Last Remnant , and a handful or 2 of other games that I kept.

sadraiden266d ago

Fallout 3 and Bioshock Infinite are the rarest games of all time.

8 Best Games Set In A Multiverse

One of the biggest TV and movie tropes in the last decade has been the multiverse, the idea of exploring multiple dimensions to uncover alternate versions of existing ideas. From both a business and creative perspective, it makes sense why established franchises are shaking things up in this way.

However, there aren't many video games latching on to this trend, as rendering multiple worlds in real-time is a difficult feat and the medium is relatively young in comparison to its contemporaries, making crossover opportunities more difficult. Still, there are a few great titles that manage enough to overcome these challenges, and here are some of the best examples.

While I love someone mentioning Planescape, not really multiverse. Planes and dimensions, yes. But, they are typically their own locations and are very rarely tied to another 'verse' let alone another plane. The only things that are directly tied are the ethereal and material planes. Otherwise, they are dimensions created of their own design and goals by the creator/owner and not comprised of 'their own version of another dimension'.
