Destructoid: "So it seems that Call of Juarez's brief stint in the modern era is over with. Goodbye and good riddance, I say. Returning to the old west setting of its series heritage, Call of Juarez: The Gunslinger aims to bring an arcade flair all its own.
Does it actually work, though?"

"Like many kids of the 90′s, I watched western movies when I was little. I always loved the idea of being a bounty hunter! To be a good guy and go around collecting or killing people in the name of justice was always a fantasy of my childhood. Bounty hunters seemed to me like superheroes; they always had faster gun skills than the bad guys, had a higher intelligence and fought for justice. At that time, I did not know they got paid for getting the wanted man."

It’s surprising how little the gaming industry makes use of the rich source material found within the historical Wild West. The time of cowboys, saloons, six shooters and tumbleweeds is a goldmine of interesting characters, both good and bad, not to mention settings and storylines. In fact, it’s almost a shame that we don’t get many Western-inspired video games these days, although it could be said that the lack of over-saturation is a good thing. Then again, at least some companies have been attempting to pay homage to that era, providing us with a limited amount of great and memorable experiences like Sunset Riders, Red Dead Redemption, GUN and the above-average Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood. There aren’t too many to speak of, of course, but this very week has added one new title to that list of notables. That would be Call of Juarez: Gunslinger, the downloadable Xbox LIVE Arcade, PlayStation Network and PC game from Techland and Ubisoft.

"The latest Call of Juarez looks interesting, and the premise is promising, but after our hands on we were left feeling like there's still more that needs to be tweaked."
One thing I've learned is that never read a preview like its a review. This game has time to be polished and believe me - it will be a very good game if you like COJ: Bound in Blood. Very excited to play it.
