On August 9th, 2012, a Kickstarter campaign was successfully funded for Jack Houston and the Necronauts by Warbird Games. Jack Houston and the Necronauts is a point and click adventure set to be for PC/Mac around December 2013. Here's an interview with Stacy Davidson of Warbird Games, lead designer.

One area in particular which has gained popularity is with game developers. Small indie studios often find it hard to crack into the industry, with thousands having to be spent to get noticed or signing with a publisher who will take their project on. Signing with a publisher also means handing over a vast quantity of profit and sometimes even the rights to the IP. With Kickstarter these developers can get crowd funding and even secure pre-orders of their game months before release, its a great way to kick off a project without much in the way of sacrifice. This way of development has lead to some very interesting and unique ideas surfacing on the site, here are a few games you should check out that could be released (with your help) in the near future.
