IGN Preview | NBA 2K13 Has Everything and the Kitchen Sink

IGN:

Has the NBA 2K series become too successful?

Two years ago, the stars all aligned for the long-running basketball sim. Michael Jordan signed on. Their competition crashed and burned spectacularly. And most importantly, independent of all that, the gameplay itself was the best we'd ever seen in a pro basketball game up to that point. 2K's party continued last year, with Jordan returning, EA keeping NBA Live on the bench again, and 2K12 offering up more hoops goodness.

The story is too old to be commented.

I'm more hyped for 2K13 after reading that preview

12 was really good and they keep adding things so how great can it get? Should be interesting having NBA Live back in the game this year too.

@NYC, Oh man, I loved some NFL2K - the one I had on dreamcast was amazing.

Could you imagine if 2K had the NFL license?

It would be terrible...Look at All-Pro Football

@coltrane... Would be terrible?? They had it before and it was far from terrible. I think part of the reason EA paid all that money for the license was because 2k sports was doing a much better job with football then they did.

@NYC_Gamer....If 2K had the NFL license we would be a LOT closer to finally having a great sim football game than we are now. 2K5 pretty much set a benchmark for a great football game. That was released 8 years ago...and Madden has been cherry picking features from it ever since. All Pro was basically the same engine with minor tweaks. Imagine if Visual Concepts would have had the same 8 years to perfect their version of football? Man...I hope against hope that the NFL frees up that license.
