DMC4 is 720p on PS3 & 360 Despite Blog's "Press Release"

ITS NOT SONY OR EVEN MS FAULT WHY A GAME IS NOT FULL HD. Last time i checked the devs make the games and is FULLY up to them on whether a gme runs at 30 60 or even 120 frames a second at 720/1080 i/p displays. The technology is there its up to developers to use it.

That is why HD and Blu-ray are so unimportant right now because developers will never use these discs to the full capacity they are capable of. I bet we wont even see any games running in 1080p until the next consoles are out.

there are some games running on the ps3 at 1080p 60fps, some 30fps, but they are no graphical master peice, far from it

what is that? demo for ps3 is 720p and 360 is 1080i. that's all i need to know.

ps3 does look better on my tv, don't know why. maybe it's because hdmi vs component.

The 360 version isn't 1080i natively. Switch your screen resolution to 720p on the xbox, and you will see a difference in sharpness and detail.

You would think that this game would play in 1080p since Capcom put in the effort to have it running at 60fps. It's such a visual showpiece (except for the bad shadowing) that I'd expected them to fully exploit it in the highest resolution possible. The same goes for Uncharted.

Yeah that's what I thought. COD4 and Halo 3 has some serious jaggies from far distances (still pretty clear up close) while DMC4 still looks very smooth. So it's definitely not 640p.

Secondly, whoever said "you cant tell the difference between 100 pixels" is ignorant.

First, resolution is multiplied. Like 1280x640 = 819200 pixels
And 1280x720 = 921600 pixels.

That's just about 100,000 more pixels assuming it's 1280x640 and not 1080x640 or something.

And you can definitely tell a visual difference between 600p, 640p compared to 720p. Test it yourself, load up COD4 or halo 3 and look at the screen for objects or environments in the distance. You will see jaggies jaggies jaggies.

However it's more noted that 720p and 1080p are the ones that's indistinguishable unless you have a 46" TV or above.

I don't see jaggies. Maybe if I put my face 2 inches in front of my 42 inch plasma but sitting at a normal distance their are no jaggies.

I've never seen a game in 640p. Even crappy PS3 games are in 720, it's an easy resolution to achieve for X-Box and PS3.

that's the problem with fanboys,they will try and make the system they have look better then the other system even if they have to post something that they know is not even true to make the system they have look better and i think that it's childish and if i was a fanboy and act like they do i'll be to ashame to even admit that i'll fight over a stupid game system like a kid.
the truth is that both systems are good with good games,the 360 does somethings better then the ps3 and the ps3 does some things better then the 360 and that's a fact and the people that disagree are just fanboys.all the fanboys act like forth graders on a school ground saying my daddy can beat up your daddy when they fight over what system is the best.
