Microsoft announced today prior to the NPD report for August that its Xbox 360 console has sold 193,000 units for the month, marking the 20th consecutive month as the top-selling current-generation console in the US.

August 2012 U.S. NPD highlights:

No there HAVE been better holidays for the 360 than this upcoming one and the last one. 2006/2007 were definitely its best years (especially when those games were hot among Live buds).
wow I don't understand it. If they do a price cut they will be able to stand toe-to-toe with the wii-u at launch. Since the wiiU is a current gen tech people may go with the 360 or ps3 because of their better libraries. Sells would go crazy if their was a $99USD 360,4gb or a $249USD 360+kinect 320gb or a PS3+vita+move bundle!
They're actually pretty terrible. What's worse is that it was the best selling console last month in the largest video game market in the world by far.

The Microsoft fanboys are so blind they don't realize that that overall % of console and hardware sales have dropped 20% YoY. The generation is over gentlemen. Of course, you'll still have shills like Dark360 and EvilDead360 tell you that Xbox is leading in sales (only in America) where it's been outsold by the PS3 and Wii everywhere else. Of course, that only happens when you only have one console instead of all 3 like me. :)
Who really cares? If you care that much that MS went down 20% overall in North America, then you should be concerned on the level of sales of the PS3 in that same region. Like I said. Who cares.
The PS3 continues to gain momentum with exclusive games like PSABR, The Last of Us, Wonderbook and Beyond Two Souls on the horizon - prediction of SONY's NPD response.
