Are current big-budget games really the last of their kind?

Ubisoft creative director calls current big game studios 'The Last of the Dinosaurs.' This begs the question, 'How the hell did he come to that conclusion?' (Assassin's Creed III, Industry, PC, PS3, Ubisoft, Xbox 360)

This remind me of those who claim consoles is dying wheres its killer tend to be mobile gaming or how iPhone and Android devices will off handheld gaming.

Big budget gaming will continue to exist. Downsizing the team and development prcoess would hurt some games. You thought your games was plaque with bugs and glitches now, wait till some companies tries this method.

Big budget games isn't what killed Midway and 38Studios imho it was poor decision making and terrible business management.

If I'm being honest with you I have not been Impressed with any big budget game since uncharted 2.
KZ3 was Ok
GT5 not what it should be
Resistance 3...erm
Socom 4 was okish
and now Im going off these big games
heck raymen orgins,minecraft,trine 2 etc these games are way more fun then these big budget games

The Last Of Us looks to be different than other games i've seen. Wondering why they haven't showed infected gameplay yet but they probably have their reasons.
