Fuad Abazovic Monday, 04 February 2008 11:15 - A local computer shop Ditech.at got a dozen of Core 2 Duo 8400 and 8500 CPUs clocked at 3.0GHZ and 3.16GHz and it sold them the same day.
I think most people are still well-suited to the current array of cpu's, which are at a much more affordable price. The modest gains from the 45nm chips may not yet justify the cost.
Well, it doesn't justify the cost, but it's a matter of personal tastes and having the money.
I would like to see benchmarks of sissoft before running out and buying something so expensive. I already have E6600 2.4 running at 3.44ghz @ 1720fsb, 2mb of additional cache wont make much of differnce. People can easily overclock the 2.4 to 3.0 by air cooling only.
Thats what I did.
