Sleeping Dogs 2: What we want to see

CVG - Everyone loves rooting for the underdog, look no further than Sleeping Dogs if you need proof. As another of Activision's Grand Theft Auto-aping True Crime games, it received muted optimism at best. Few mourned when it was given a vote of no confidence and was unceremoniously tossed aside. (PC, PS3, Sleeping Dogs, Xbox 360)

Sometimes it's better to not put out demos, I played the Sleeping Dogs demo and there's no way I'm getting the game now, I hated the combat, if that's the focus of the game I'm not interested.

I found it hard to adjust at first but then I mastered it and found it great.

Anyway, what I want to see in SD2:

1. A longer campaign.
2. Online multiplayer.
3. More accessible buildings.
4. The dates be more important and to have more than just one.
5. Be able to explore more of HK i.e. Kowloon.
6. Fly planes and helicopters.
7. Ditch the tedius hacking.

Agree with most. I actually like the hacking mini games and think they're better done than in a lot of games. I don't want MP; I'd rather they devote their time to making the best SP they can.

They need to bring Wei back for the follow up & make the next one a bit longer ,larger.

Bummer man. You're gonna have to skip a massive catalog of games for at least the next 5 to 8 years.

Way to early to be speculating about the Second game.

How about they change the real games name back to True Crime instead of renaming it Sleeping Dogs. The game is just horrible period. The combat is so off compared to Batman which pretty much perfects its which is much more satisfying.

How about you research the fact that the game was NEVER True Crimes to begin with and was made by an entirely different developer.

The developer himself said that it started as a brand new IP.
Activision saw it, picked it up, branded it 'True Crime'(based on similarities) and later dropped it, presumably because it didn't meet Activisions yearly/short release schedules.

I'm glad Square Enix picked it up and the game was able to regain its identity.

I loved the combat. It was more grounded than Batman which was too easy to counter attacks on. It was less acrobatic than Batman, but I liked the focus on martial arts moves as well as the moves learned by leveling up.
The game was far from "horrible", GTFO.

Whenever it comes out, it'll be better than GTA5 and 6. Fact!

I think that I would agree with some of what the author has stated about some tweaks. I would LOVE more characters to get to know. I would LOVE some more historical/cultural perspective (kind of how the GTA games capture the essence of whatever time or place they seem to occupy). Mostly, I just want the story itself to last longer. Now that they know that they have a viable franchise...and they actually can take some time with it, I expect that they will further flesh out the combat (which, IMO, is the most fun aspect of the game) with even more moves. All in all, for a title that was canned...revived...tweaked...a nd sold, this game was very solid and some of the most fun I have had in a while.
