Are you claiming it's probably Snake because Ground Zeroes takes place after Peace Walker? That would make sense, as, you are right, Raiden was not born yet.

Big Boss (Naked Snake) will be in his 40's (born 1935). If Solid Snake, Liquid Snake (Ocelot), or even Solidus Snake (George Sears) appear in the game, then they would be very young (all born 1972)...

Since Chico is only 12 years old during the Peace Walker Incident in 1974, and he doesn't appear to be much older in the Trailer, then this game may only start a year or two later. The woman that Chico apparently betrayed while in captivity may have been his older sister, Amanda Valenciano Libre. He's being held hostage at "Camp Omega", a facility operated by the mysterious American PMC "XOF" (FOX backwards), which is located at the southernmost tip of Cuba. Paz Ortega Andrade is also being held captive there, and Big Boss must rescue her before "XOF" interrogates her for the location of Cipher (Zero)...

The "Burned Man" appears to be Vladimir Alexandrovich Zadornov, who supposedly died in Peace Walker after being shot by Big Boss. I'm not sure how he could've been burned so badly though. His right hand is also a prosthetic, which you can't tell in the Trailer since both of his hands were covered by gloves...

Last thing: I suspect that the mysteriously burnt man could possibly be decoy octopus. Looks similar in the trench coat, but I guess thats not enough to go on. Plus the burnt face...hmmm.
FINALLY: Did u notice how the snake in the concept art was younget, less muscular, and had black hair with a black 5'o clock shadow, with a foxhound badge on his shoulder? YET, the Snake in the trailer had grey hair (obviously big boss), more toned, and a grisly short beard, and an MSF badge. What the heck is going on o.O
When looking at the burned man, & looked at his face, I immediately thought about Psycho Mantis, in MGS1 he told Solid Snake he knew Big Boss before... The kid obviously isn't Solid Snake, he would have knew who Psycho Mantis was by the events MGS1, that's obviously Chico!!!
@ onyoursistersback- I may be crazy, but that would lead me to believe Vladimir Alexandrovich Zadornov & Psycho Mantis are the same person, IDK!!!!
The highest probability for the burned man is none other than Major Zero or an agent under him. Zadornov, despite his prosthetic hand, is RIGHT handed. You can clearly see the burned man utilized his left hand when he removed the XOF sign at the hind.
It's nothing been worked out or speculated. Know your stuff before writing articles :)

You're overestimating people. Most peoples opinions on things are usually affected by what others around them are saying about it. They don't even realise that that is why they dislike it. People are sheep.
You start to notice this stuff when you look at, or hear what it is about something that people dislike. You notice that everyone is saying almost they exact same thing word for word.
I'll admit that there will be some instances of coincidence and free thinkers in there though.

Chico's already a sell-out in PW. This is referred to in the demo by that disfigured man.
Dosen't he say something along the lines of
"Chico and Amanda are being held somewhere in the east of the base"

As he should. Why would a guy who didn't even play all the MGS or (didn't understand them) make such a silly article. It might be one of the stupidest articles i've seen ALL YEAR! At least the fanboy articles intended to flame have there purposes.
On an unrelated note, the more next-gen games I see the less impressive the next-gen Unreal engine looks to me. So many games are destroying that lava knight demo.

Raiden in MGS4 was [light] blonde, as you said.
It could also be that the environment made the hair to be dark blonde...?
And even if this is Chico, the name can easily be changed in the MGS series. For example, in MGS2, there has been many references to Raiden's many names. Jack, Jack the Ripper, and another name I forget.
So if I haven't played the PSP versions, I'll be lost? As someone who has beaten the entire "Solid" saga minus these games, that kind of grinds my gears.
For anybody new to the series (Xbox folk) or people who missed out on Peace Walker because it was a PSP game, Now is the time to play through the HD collection.. Don't miss Peace Walker because of it's origins on PSP, Your a damned fool if you think it'll be a crappy game because of it was on a handheld console.

And what do you mean Raiden's reason for living? My understanding is he was brought up to be a ruthless killer, not to help Snake.
The kid is Chico. Raiden was born c1980s so he probably wouldn't even be born at this point in time.
if you played PEACE WALKER you will know that this boy is crazy with MP3 stuff :)
Think of it as PO/PW game-play style making its full home console debut.
If Snake or Raiden makes an appearance i expect them to be either infants, or a mere mention of a project in the game dialog discussing a project where super soldiers are being cloned..... ala a spiritual reverence only.
Obviously Metal Gear 1 centres around Snake's first mission with Big Boss but I would like this to be revisited or the points leading up to it. Snake was trained by Miller and Big Boss... this would be an incredible crossing point of the two Snakes and could be one of the most important points of the series, and it hasn't even been explored!
