SEGA cuts price for Golden Compass and VF5 on Xbox 360

SEGA has just announced that it will cut the price for The Golden Compass on all platforms and the Xbox 360 version of Virtua Fighter 5. The announcement was only made for Europe, but it is expected the same price cut will follow soon in America.

As of next week, Virtua Fighter 5 will be in stores for only €30, in stead of €60. The Golden Compass will have a new price tag as of next week, with the PSP version at €20, the PS2 version at €30, and the Xbox 360/PS3/Wii version at €40. (PS2, PS3, PSP, The Golden Compass, Virtua Fighter 5, Wii, Xbox 360)

But the Golden Compass (The next LOTR according to some Sega executive), now that was pretty expected as the movie...

It did not sell well at all
*shrugs* Shame for them seeing how much time and effort/lies they threw behind it in regards to online play.

It's ridiculous...
... 40 Euro is still about as much as 60 Dollars.

So they PRETEND it's a nice small budget-price, while it's actually just as much as the game should have cost when it came out and was new... cause that's what the Americans etc have to pay for a NEW game.

Apparently, we Europeans will gladly pay 'full-price' for a 'budget-game', while I'm sure the Americans will be able to pick up this game within 1-2 months for about 30 dollars (20 euro) (!)

It's about time that companies stop taking advantage of the European gamers by overpricing their games all the time...

Ah well, at least Virtua Fighter 5 is now 30 euro, which is still alot, but is probably worth it.

Sega put too much time into the xbox 360 version thinking it was gonna do so much better and then it just tanked... VF is old hat, that's why. It hasn't got a chance in today's world of gaming.

As far as 3-d fighters go... DOA is more accessible and user friendly... Tekken is more appealing. Simple as that.

The 360 version is the best version. Sega just didn't market it accordingly. Hell, some of my friends bought a PS3 just for VF5 not knowing there 360 version was out.

I didn't like Virtua Fighter 5. I prefer Dead or Alive 4.

I work videogames retail, and I am ashamed to have the Golden Compass on display on my wall.

Very seriously ashamed.

Nearly every person who has bought it has told me that it sucks horribly, and even their kids don't like it.

Also, I had a 10 year-old come into my store and yell "MOVIE GAMES SUCK.....THEY ARE A MOCKERY!!!!"

It was the best moment of my working life.
