At the 3D technology summit Imagina 2008, EA's CTO Glenn Entis talks about Steven Spielberg's upcoming games and whether or not videogames will have their Citizen Kane moment.
"I don't know if there will be a Citizen Kane moment with games," said Entis. "The world was a simpler place and culture was a less fragmented thing back when Citizen Kane opened. Games have branched out into so many different areas that I think you would find wild disagreement over what a Citizen Kane moment would be. A lot of people would say it would be the point where a game makes you cry and that you feel a real emotional connection with a virtual character - and that's not a bad definition. But then there's the question, if movies already make us cry then why do we need that from games?"
