NBA Baller Beats - 5 Things You Need to Know (GameXplain)

GameXplain: "Last month, we ventured into a downtown San Francisco hotel as rhythm-challenged videogame journalists to play NBA Baller Beats, a Kinect-enabled rhythm game that uses an actual basketball, and emerged much the same, only exhausted and filled with the knowledge that this is something you haven’t quite played before." (NBA Baller Beats, Xbox 360)

Sounds pretty fun. Maybe I can use it to finally lose all that weight I've gained...

I hate when these so called journalist reinforce false stereotypes.
Kinect isnt inherently laggy, it only has lag when it has to translate actions into avatar animations. Thats why games where it only reads you like Dance Games and and Fruit Ninja have no lag because it isnt animating anything. Baller Beats is the same its not animating a character its just reading. The lag issue is very small these days because devs have learned how to program for kinect better.

The lag issues are not only present when "animating an avatar"--what ever gave you that idea? It's present whenever a game uses the full-extent of the Kinect's skeletal tracking. If it's used as a normal webcam, ala the EyeToy, there won't be lag, but very few games do this since that's not what the Kinect is about. And rest assured there is still lag in Baller Beats, it's just not a relevant factor.
