US Army Soldiers Reportedly Inspired To Homegrown Terrorism By 'Rainbow 6 Patriots'

TheVerge- A group of US Army soldiers-turned-terrorists was partly inspired by Ubisoft's upcoming Rainbow 6 Patriots, according to the prosecution in the murder case against members of the self-styled militia.

The group, which calls itself "Forever Enduring Always Ready" (FEAR), consists of current and inactive soldiers from the US Army post in Fort Stewart, Georgia. Prosecutors say that FEAR's leader, Pvt. Isaac Aguigui, used a magazine article on Rainbow 6 Patriots to recruit soldiers to his cause. (PC, PS3, Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Patriots, Xbox 360)

The media is going to have a field day with this news.

Going by this terrorist group's initials, I'da thought that they would've been more influenced by little evil girls who are endowed with psychic powers...

to think that they were going to try to overthrow the government but got caught after killing a couple because they weren't "going with the plan". These guys are idiots.

In regards to Rainbow Six Patriots, they knew what they were getting into before they made the game, so I don't think they need any kind of defending. The only flak they get from the media is the kind they set themselves up for.

Lord...anyone dumb enough to join a cause like this, well they deserve what they get. And lets be honest here, this "leader" could have used any number of anti american or supremist pamphlets as that introductory piece, Ubisoft just unfortunately had bad timing with this. Nothing they could do about it. Lets just hope these fools take a needle injection and be done with it.

"Three members of FEAR — Aguigui, Pvt. Christopher Salmon, and Sgt. Anthony Peden — have been charged with the December 4th, 2011, murder of former soldier Michael Roark, 19, and his 17-year-old girlfriend, Tiffany York.

A fourth, Pfc. Michael Burnett, agreed to a plea deal, testifying against his co-conspirators in exchange for pleading guilty to voluntary manslaughter and illegal gang activity. According to Burnett, the soldiers killed the couple because they believed that the two had betrayed their plots. The soldiers have been charged in Georgia district court with malice murder, felony murder, criminal gang activity, aggravated assault, and using a firearm while committing a felony."

... this is a desperate attempt to shift the blame on someone else. HOWEVER... they forgot one important detail...

... 'Rainbow 6 Patriots' didn't commit any crimes or kill anybody... YOU DID.
