Skyrim: Dawnguard PS3 Delay 'Not Impacted By Hearthfire' - Bethesda

NowGamer: Bethesda's Pete Hines has responded to gamers angry that Skyrim is getting more DLC on Xbox 360 before the launch of Dawnguard on PS3. (Bethesda Game Studios, Bethesda Softworks, PC, Pete Hines, PS3, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Xbox 360)

Developers will always say that, what you want to hear.

Can see why they're angry. Wouldn't be surprised if the M$ deal included a schedule of DLC - meaning Xbox 360 was always going to get preferential treatment.

Actually this the last one Microsoft can get first. So that's good news at least.
geddesmond  +   1134d ago
Yep. They probably only have 3 people working on getting the PS3 version to work and its probably the 3 guys who messed up the actual Skyrim game on the PS3. Ah screw it, I'm done with Bethesda. I went through all this with Oblivion, Fallout 3 and New Vegas. Their track record proves they can't develop for the PS3 so lesson is well learned.

No the PS3 just wasnt built for gaming, it was built to push blu-ray. Thats why it has an imaging decoder as its processor. If you want to blame anyone for the ps3's overly difficult development process blame sony. It's been 7 years and developers are still having trouble with the ps3. There is a point that the developers are no longer at fault. And its past that point with the ps3. It has gotten very old hearing sony fans blame devs. These devs have done the best that can be done with the ps3, its sonys fault at this point.

@Brosy I just have to laugh at your comment. There's too many good games on the ps3 that work just fine for developers to hide behind "it's just too hard" :(. If you can't make a proper game then just don't do it. It's not ok for developers to take people's money and give them a pile of trash.

I love me some Bethesda and I'm pretty pissed I've never been able to finish skyrim due to crashes glitches in quest lines and so on. I wish I had a way to get my 60 dollars back.

@ Brosy, get away from me with that fanboy BS. Ya know these past few years I've grown to really hate the gaming industry and fanboys with there BS arguements that try to drag everyone else down with them are one of the main reasons why.

Yeah its Sonys fault not the developers. Thats why I've played dozens of games that ran perfect on the PS3 including big RPGs. Those games were just an illusion. They didn't really exist, it was all in my head. F off would ya.

"The entire team doesn't work on one thing at a time". Maybe they should work only on one thing at a time. They could then release something that isn't buggy
DragonKnight  +   1134d ago
Agreed. You know what this also means? It means Hearthfire will be out for the 360 before Dawnguard is out for PS3. Bethesda are giving a huge middle finger to paying PS3 users. I guess they hate money unless it's from Microsoft.
scotchmouth  +   1134d ago
I really have to agree here. Quality control needs a bit more attention
Feckles  +   1134d ago
I just wish Bethesda could just be honest and say why there's a delay to the PS3 Dawnguard.

I don't mind a delay as long as it's not buggy like the Fallout 3 DLC.

Mind you, most of the Fallout DLC was worth having, sounds like Dawnguard is average at best.
DragonKnight  +   1134d ago
They said they aren't happy with the performance of Dawnguard on the PS3 and that's why it's not out yet. Which means 3 things. 1. They aren't finished with it. 2. They haven't submitted it for Sony's inspection yet which will mean further delays. 3. They are a bunch of liars considering the PS3 version of the main game is the worst performing, buggiest version of Skyrim out right now.
Baka-akaB  +   1134d ago
Lol that's funny , they had no issue shoving down the worst version of Skyrim , instead of delaying it to improve on it .

So you rush the original game but polish the dlc ? WoW
Freakazoid2012  +   1134d ago
What's real funny is you guys crying over something you should have learned years ago, yet because they keep fooling you, and you keep falling for it, you want to act offended.

You have nobody to blame but you if you keep buying their games on PS3 and expecting them to be the best there is...I stopped years ago and havent been happier. I suggest you do the same or just accept that they are only dealing with you as an afterthought.

Take a chill pill to begin with , then breath . I'm not angry nor mad here , i'm even laughing at the situation .

I never bothered with skyrim and any bethesda game on PS3 or any console to begin with . I never thought those game should even be played without mods , let alone when knowing there would be technical issues

I only played them on PC . Doesnt change the fact that they are doing a shoddy work , and that they could just have delayed a game with issues on a platform , but would rather cash in .

While they have no issues taking the time needed to polish the dlc . If that's not some kind of backward order of priority , i dunno .

Money talks. Talk is cheap.

Those are two seperate phrases, but I think that they really compliment each other.

I thought they fixed that with the main game? If it is fixed, wouldn't that suggest that all that is needed is effort, which seems to be the main issue...or lack there of on Bethesda's part.
modesign  +   1134d ago
wasnt dawngarde a mediocre expansion, no loss in not having it on ps3, im sure hearthfire will be mediocre also, ill hold out for a good game not from bethesda
chukamachine  +   1134d ago
Another overrated game.
claud3  +   1134d ago
Why do they lie, wait its because they can and know some will wait
Dreamer09  +   1134d ago
Meh it's weird going back to the 360 version after playing the ENB series of Skyrim on PC.

To be fair, both PS3 and 360 owners are missing out on the true essence of Skyrim.
I've been building my own houses since December last year on Skyrim, it's shameful that Bethy are now charging £10 for this on consoles..
Console gamer's, always getting fucked over, poor girls.
nihonlight  +   1134d ago
More lies from Pete trying to do damage control
They sold ps3 owners a subpar broken game and laughed all the way to the bank.
We can barley run the vanilla game. Dawngaurd will break us.
