A couple of weeks ago, middleware-maker Umbra announced that it became an official Wii U partner. Third-parties can now use the company’s tools for upcoming projects. (Dev, Industry, Next-Gen, Tech, Umbra, Wii U)

The Wii U has a lot of middleware engines underneath its belt

It's hard to believe that developers will completely shy away (certain N4G members believe so) from the Wii U when the PS4 and 720 launches, when Nintendo offers so many incentives to develop for next-gen system.

PS3/X360 are the baseline of what is classified as a good level of graphical quality. WiiU will be 2-3 times that at minimum. There is no official word yet on how far, but it could easily be 5-6 times more powerful than PS3/X360 if Nintendo has chosen that route. Developers can easily build off that platform for 10+ years. Nintendo has gone out of the way to make porting games easier too. So games will be more accessible to reach the WiiU. I think next-gen Nintendo will see 100% of the multiplatform releases. Which is a big plus for Nintendo.

Sounds like good news.

Good news and as usually happens with good news we have no MikeCosgrove,Silverhack, Luctretia, etc. Funny how you cant find them when they cant spin the news into a negative.

Off topic but I'm down to one bubble even though I have never been marked for trolling etc so any help you guys can give would be appreciated. I'm guessing one of the pro Sony mods doesnt like me picking on his buddies and wants to get back at me some how... Well the best part is they cant take anything else. Cant ban me for following the rules even if you can take my bubbles like the child you obviously are

Great current gen middleware! Now wheres the games that use them?
Jadedz  +   598d ago
Lmao (smh)
Developers using this specific engine (or the others Nintendo licensed for the Wii U), won't have to pay the licensing fee if they choose to develop a title for Nintendo's next-gen console.

Whereas for the PS360 - they do.

i know! ps3/360 will be phasing out while new consoles are born forming new partnerships with NEW technologies.. Plus your right, cuz devs dont wana pay fees to port over games that are already out.. LMAO smh
