When asked whether the fixed viewpoints and slower pacing of the original games could return, Resident Evil 6 producer Hiroyuki Kobayashi said that such a style would be best suited to a handheld.
"I think nowadays that would be hard putting an old-school-style console game on, say, the PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360, I don't think the technology is suited for that style of gameplay," he told Digital Spy at gamescom.
"But that's not to say we couldn't do that on another platform. I think mobile platforms, for example, might be suited to a classic Resident Evil game. For example on PSP you could definitely do a classic-style game like that."
Kobayashi, who started at Capcom as a programmer on the original Resident Evil in 1996 and was a producer on Resident Evil 4, added that he personally wouldn't want to make such a game at the moment.
"It would be interesting to make, but personally speaking I'm not sure if it's the game I'd want to make right now. I would want to make so...
Moblies dont have controllers, so the PHYSICAL design suits this type of game better then the PS3/360 could.
Makes sense, but why the hell did they make RE Remakes, put them on PSN; and make comments like this after the fact. lol!

WHAT?
Whaaa, I really do not understand what he even means by this. Is this just a cop out for him not wanting or justifying a return to the old style for consoles? Classic style on PSP? PSP?!
Truly a lot of producers have fallin in with this Michael Bay sort of game making and think that no one wants to play a slower paced game for their console. But they would be wrong, as much as I enjoyed RE:4 and sorta enjoyed RE:5 I would love for them to return to the original pacing of the first three games.
Archaic...
Don't think it's gonna happen
Knives can be used not only slash out an enemy but impale them in the head like Resident Evil Remake however the monster will die from bleed out if it is done on an undamaged enemy. It can kill after a several seconds if it is a normal zombie or just slowly take HP from larger monsters but only a miniscule amount that never kills it. Choosing the area to stab a monster will not only judge the initial damage of the blade on impact but can cause the monster to stumble back in surprise depending where you stab it. ( A mechanic I see in Lost Planet 3 which may be one of it's saving graces if pulled of correctly)
Monsters dropping ammunition and health is another factor that needs to go.
A great survival horror is a game where every enemy has the edge on you, similar to Ninja Gaiden and Demon Souls but in a scary disturbing way by giving creatures a gun.
When I played Resident Evil 3 ... I was scared to hell and back whenever I though Nemesis was coming or I was running low on ammo in the original.
Resident Evil 4 is a shooter, you have TONS of bullets. You kill everything in sight ... no need for saving ammo, no need to run away from a fight.
In fact It was semi-dead to me. It only started breathing again after part 4 and my interest peaked slowly again from then on.
Go backwards, you'll loose this customer at least and I know I am not alone.
Cant dwell on this bit on nasty-ass news, gotta keep on trucking.
Update the controls? Absolutely.
Update the camera angles? Sure.
Bring back the tension and horror? Hell yes.
Bring back the need to conserve ammo and use it wisely? Fuck yea.
Bring back the puzzles and the maze of item progression? YES!
There is no reason they can't bring back the old style with modernized controls and a few innovations. Just get rid of the cheesy action hero characters. Call it a reboot. Whatever. Just make it scary and more realistic (as far as being realistic goes in zombie games).
They keep saying this but I'm pretty sure it's so fans don't loose hope with them
First they said it about RE6, then they said it about Leons campaign, then they said it about Adas campaign and now there saying it will be in future RE titles.....come on people do the maths they've just kept bullcrapping up so it dosen't hurt RE6 sales.
NO NEED FOR TANK CONTROLS AND HORRID CAMERA ANGLES.
