The Force Un-PCed - PC Gamer whines and complains

Chris 'Pip the Intern' Holt of PC Gamer, who has just found out that LucasArts has no plan to port Star Wars: The Force Unleashed over to the dying PC gaming platform, writes an article to whine and complain about being "betrayed". A very bitter Chris seems to think that Star Wars "owe" its success to the "loyal" PC gamers.

For the record, The Force Unleashed will be on PS3, Xbox 360, Wii, DS, PSP, and PS2. And even N-Gage. But *NOT* PC. It will be on every single gaming platform *EXCEPT* PC.

The story is too old to be commented.

"Instead of hoping that The Force Unleashed is the next Jedi Knight, now I'm hoping it’s the next Obi-Wan. "

Hoping the game isn't as good because it's on another system. Now that's a true gamer.

Seriously, PC nerds are some of the most egregious, dumbest fanboys in all of videogames.

Seriously, do you even read some of the console fan-babies (always wining and crying about there console) post's in N4G...

I am personally glad it is coming to consoles. Makes me feel justified in owning them. If it were not for console exclusive games I would NEVER waste money on a console for any reason.

And don't worry, I am sure that they are going to use this tech to make a game that blows the console game out of the water. LucasArts always makes for the PC. ALWAYS. Just check out their history.

Someone call a whaaabulance, this guy apparently needs help.
PC games are soooo 20th century.

Anyone notice the shrinking size of the PC games section in most stores nowadays?
There's a reason for that.

Yeah, its because we don't have to rely on the antiquated retail system, we have digital distribution.

Before you say, "Oh, that's nothing." Let me just say that at least 11 million Steam users who each have at least one game of Steam, disagree with you. And thats not including D2D or other services.

Crysis, a game which is notorious for running on only high-spec computers, has already broken the million sales mark since its release, and it features gameplay, graphics, and large environments which can only be seen on the PC.

Say what you will, but the PC is still leading the charge. Just wait till Starcraft 2, Wrath of the Lich King, Spore, Sins of a Solar Empire and many more games come out to prove you wrong. (All PC exclusive, and multi-plats are usually better on PC in other cases)

"Anyone notice the shrinking size of the PC games section in most stores nowadays?"

because the majority now of PC gamers are either buying thru online stores or downloading via STEAM or D2D?

I mean STEAM is not making an empire out of 3-4 people downloading same goes for the majority of the 1million sales of Crysis being thru digital distribution

"Crysis, a game which is notorious for running on only high-spec computers, has already broken the million sales mark since its release..."

And how long did THAT take? And I believe most of us already played "Crysis." It's called Far Cry.

"(All PC exclusive, and multi-plats are usually better on PC in other cases)"

I agree. Usually better, but NOT worth the price tag that along with PC gaming. Which also reminds me... There's another problem with PC gaming. Few to little titles are released for it every year. Let's face it. PC Gaming will never see the Tekkens, Metal Gears, Gran Tusimos, Forzas, Soul Caliburs, etc... Just to name a few. Which is also why consoles are so successful for the most part.

And sell ~10 times better on consoles. Without lost dollars because of pirates either.

losing millions to piracy < hearing elitist pc gamers cry

games4fun3461d ago

but what you call elitist is just saying they have money, if i had a lot of money laying around i would be a pc gamer the games are always better on pc(graphically) and not only that everygame has a chance of being modded to make it even better so yeah of course those who delve out the cash for thier pc will be upset the only thing i dont agree with was the guy wishing the game to be horrible for others.

Statix3461d ago (Edited 3461d ago )

It's not about money, it's about the games. I have the money, but I much prefer console games and the console experience. The PC platform just doesn't have enough games or variety to satisfy my needs. Not being an RTS fan, the selection of PC titles (or lack thereof) doesn't exactly warm me up to PC gaming, I'm sorry. I'm getting real sick of the occasional elitist nerdboy crawling out of the woodwork to look down on people who game on consoles, like it's out of necessity rather than choice.

And you know what, I'm an actual GAMER (that concept might be lost on some of you graphics and tech whores masquerading as gamers), so I don't play games for graphics either.
