DSOGaming writes: "Epic Games has released the SIGGRAPH 2012 tech presentation of Unreal Engine 4 and as you may have guessed, this presentation includes some new screenshots from Epic’s next-generation engine. Below, you can find screenshots that showcase Interactive Indirect Illumination and Ambient Occlusion Using Voxel Cone Tracing, Voxel Lighting, Area Light Specular, IB Lens Flares, Reflections, Shadows that receive Translucency, Volumetric direct and indirect lighting, and one million particles on screen." Looks next-gen for in engine shots. Not exactly photo realistic though. Still looks great though. Would like to see these shots in motion.

With the ease of use UE4 looks like it could really streamline game development. Giving us much better games with less resources. Tools like these are whats gonna keep devolpment cost under control next gen. Hopefully we'll see less studios go belly up.

I still think that Cryengine 3+ will beat it in terms of graphics.

Ue4 will be more user friendly however.

I think we're going to see a big jump in lighting next gen and not so much in the resolution and texture area. I don't think there is much point in trying to push past 1080p just yet.

This looks sick! But seeing as it will be used mostly for multiplats game I can't imagine what future PC exclusive games and Naughty Dog games will look next gen. Most likely will look even better than this which is insane.

Begin of this gen..

End of this gen..

Not much difference in your pics u posted except i do know KZ3 uses some cool FX that u would only see in PC games.

You would hope most Next Gen console games would look like Crysis 1 PC or Battlefield 3 PC or Metro 2033 PC.

we will just have to wait and see!

i dont know why but those particles floating through the air always look so fake and stand out way too much. even in that fantasy looking demo a few months back, it just stood out too awkwardly. at the beginning of this video when the hammer hits and the particles fly...just so strange.

The Screen shots are a nice step in the right direction.

We need to remember, that the first games using this engine won't be nearly as good looking as the games being released 2,3,4 years from now.

So in theory this engine is actually much nicer that we are currently able to show, skill wise, until everybody "masters" the engine. Which usually takes until the end of the gen cycle.

The KinectBox and PayStation 4 are going to be as flaccid as the Wii U. Bank on it.

This is PC-only, pal. Go hard or play with toy consoles.
