Who Won the Summer: PSN Play or Summer of Arcade?

GamerFitNation: This summer we have had several online releases, mostly through PSN Play and the Summer of Arcade for Xbox Live Arcade. Both of these events had some good games and were a great buy for the players who picked up the titles. However, while both systems had good games, The Summer of Arcade was the better event simply because it had more high quality games that came out exclusively for the Xbox. (Dust: An Elysian Tail, PS3, The Expendables 2 Videogame, Xbox 360)

He chose XBL Summer Arcade over PSN play, I can see it. Not only are the promotions over but MS hinted at more games to come after, Mark Of the Ninja, State Of decay and Happy Wars.

I will say MS has been very consistent in the download space this year so far.

this "Summer of Arcade" is the worst for a number of years, no great classic games like Limbo, Bastion or Trials .

but PSN has 2 great games this summer Papo&Yo and Sound Shapes, so they had better to offer this year

"no great classic games like Limbo, Bastion or Trials"

That is your opinion because Dust: an Elysian Tail to me is Epic.

So why do we need to know who won?
knifefight  +   269d ago
So that we can all flock to what everyone else thinks is cool!

I gave up thinking for myself a long time ago. Waaaaay too high maintenance. Now, I just see what the most popular opinion is and choose that. That way, I'll always fit in and never be the oddball. I buy whatever has the most sales and like whatever team "won".

Now that the sarcasm is over, can I say that these "(___company____) won (____event/time period_____)" are incredibly stupid?

So fanboys can rejoice that their favorite company beat the other :L

Both have their own goods and bads.

... so he says four games versus two games, but he counts Tony Hawk for the 360 even though it will be on both platforms. That would have been fine, but he disqualified Expendables 2 from the PS Play side of things for the same reason.
Parappa  +   269d ago
Neither. In order to win you would have to have something worth playing first.

Cool. We get to compare promotions now. They both release dozens of games throughout the year, but we need to know who does it best when they slap a name on it and make it sound like a big deal.

this Summer of Arcade > PSN Play. no fanboyism of course.

Dust an Elysian tail is just one beautiful and delightful game to play. Played for 7 hours and just started charpter 3. Already longer than so many full priced retail games out there.

Although this article is totally pointless IMO (seriously, were comparing summer sales now???), I'd say the writer is somewhat biased, considering the only reviews he ever does are 360 games and his profile comment is

"I am a college student who has been a gamer for life. I currently have a 360, and love almost every game that comes out on it. I also like to workout, I try to get to the gym as much as I can."

So why would the PSN sale appeal to him, especially when he doesn't even own the console.

Either get a multi console owner who is fair to write it, or don't bother.

Doesnt mean he hasnt played them. And the title on here is who won summer and summer isnt even over yet. Mark of the ninja and kung fu strike hit sept 5th and 7th on xbla.

he didnt even count dungeon fighter online which is good
