Darksiders 1 is a complete game but it’s obvious with Darksiders 2 they ran out of budget after the Ice world and the game just becomes a poorly paced mess.
The release date has been revealed for The Art of Darksiders II Hardcover Edition.
It's an okay game but the second act in the kingdom of the dead is really too much of a grind.
The lack of narrative really becomes apparent and the dungeons feel like they are all the product of the same map editor at some point.
After something like 12 to 15 hours in the same catacomb style environments collecting stuff by groups of 3, even the looting and platforming that once enlivened the adventure became a chore.
The looting does add a bit of personality to the game that the first one didn't have, but DSII is really stretched too thin past 20 hours or so.
The first one dragged a bit in places too, but visually it was more varied and the story, while not great, wasn't anywhere near as trite as that of the second.
Also, it seemed to have less camera issues.
Well written review, but a bit too harsh. Yes, the game replicates many mechanics from other franchises. But it is still lot of fun.
this ganme is at least an 8 in my book.
