When I took over the SCEE PlayStation Blog a month or two back, I promised you a few new regular features. Today, I’m happy to unveil the first of them: Behind The Classics. Every fortnight (well, that’s the plan at least), we’ll be talking to the creative force behind a vintage PS One or PlayStation 2 title. To kick things off, Naughty Dog co-founder Andy Gavin was kind enough to lend us his time to discuss the making of seminal 2001 PS2 platformer Jak & Daxter.
The WellPlayed team has come together to share which video games they’d like to see turned into a TV show.
The PS2 birthed various notable PlayStation mascots, but Ratchet and Clank appear to be the only ones that made it on every later console generation.
We needed remakes of Jak and Daxter more than pumping out an unnecessary "remake" of Last of Us.
Then again, we're hilariously now getting a "remake" of Horizon Zero Dawn, so Sony is already outdoing themselves.
Nahh we don’t need these kind’s of games we need more walking slimulators like Naughty Dog games and remakes of games that aren’t even 10 years old because they make money right Sony. The fact that R&C is still around AND still good is a goddamn miracle that i’m very grateful for.
the last R+C (rift apart) was definitely way better than I wanted to give it credit for before playing. still one of the best, most impressive ps5 games imo.
Even though it's been 13 years since the last brand-new Jak and Daxter game, several factors have allowed Naughty Dog's franchise to survive.
I know naughty dog has no interest in this, but man I love to see this series return, or at the very least get blue point onto remaking the original 3 games please!!!
Good read.
There are simply not enough 3D platformers like this around any more. It's why I'm anticipating Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time and the new Ratchet & Clank so much. I hope next gen ditches the overwhelming FPS obsession and brings about a new wave of action platformers.
Love this idea for the psblog....the internets wasn't all that big when a lot of these things came out and now that it is the info should be spread to the people.
Jak and Daxter will always have that special place in my heart. They where my childhood. Im so glad they released the collection.
Will a new Jak & Daxter ever be made?
