Doom 3 BFG Interview: Tom Cruise, Oculus Rift and Rage | Gamereactor UK

At this year's Gamescom we caught up with id Software's Tim Willits, and he revealed to us the major impact that Tom Cruise has had on the genre defining sci-fi shooter series. We kid you not.

Also discussed is the likelihood of Doom 4 (we can file that under "no" for now), id's relationship to the Oculus Rift and Willit's thoughts on the VR headset, multiplayer mayhem in Doom 1, 2 and 3, and how their most recent release, Rage, has helped them improve the classic formula for Doom 3 BFG Edition. The story of how John Carmack came up with the name had already been revealed in the book "Masters of Doom". I'm sure Tim is aware of it.
