Mobile & Apps: "There are so many factions out there arguing over which game - Call of Duty, or Battlefield - is better. Today I am here to set things straight once and for all. Many of you might or might not like what I have to say, but despite that, it has to be said. Let me get to it right now, Call of Duty is better than Battlefield, not by a very long shot, but long enough to be discussed."
The author is probably one of those guys that played BF, died a couple dozen times walking around in the middle of nowhere, and then decided it was the game's fault, not his.
WTF? These statements need to be completely reversed along with the title. Is this guy delirious???
Got boring and went back to the game that at its core has been the same and pretty much untouched for 7 games now?
Battlefield 3 has everything cod offers + 10 fold along with a little extra realism. You want to play cod style? Play on the CQB map pack.
You might be left without things like killstreaks rewards, but again, here comes the realism. You wan't that air support? Try using teamwork and coordination.
You usually don't get magic rewards on the battlefield because you might have been lucky enough to be shown 5 targets... Pun intended.
For all who voted for this article to be approved, thanks.
5/6 people I know have stopped playing MW3 because I mentioned that BF3 is better(My opinion) now their telling me how much more better BF3 is compared to MW3(Their opinion)...
That 1/6 person that doesn't like BF3, plays MW3 because its easier to kill people and that going 32k, 4d with or without killstreaks is more pleasing than 11k, 3d with 20500+ match points... And oh!... "180-360 Quick scoping"
My experience with the two games.
I havent clicked and yet i already see stuff like "BF aint fun" , "CoD is played by all" .
Come on , even , in elementary school we learn to do better argumentation exercices .
I dont need to be fan of either game to realise your article is worthless
Who wants to worry about gun mechanics when they can just jump into a cod game and begin killing people, all the way enjoying themselves.
It's no surprise everyone finding your article to be the mediocre fest it actually is , is called a cod hater .
Whethor you like it or not, you're pretty much the only one still living in the past.
When articles like those are written, how many fans of Call of Duty come out to argue? Not many, even though our numbers are larger. And people call cod fans kids etc.
Which means I DON'T GIVE A FUCK!
Bf3 is better and cod is no where near comparison
Call of Drama Queen? Judging by sales, Call of Duty has plenty of supporters so don't act like you're in some kind of downtrodden minority. You can express your opinion just like people who can't stand Call of Duty can express theirs. Give me BF3, SOCOM4, MAG, and CS:GO over CoD any day of the week. Zombie mode is CoD's one redeeming feature now, but it's not enough to get me to buy another CoD.
Emotions run really high on N4G over mere video games. We all love to play, but the line has to be crossed somewhere along the line.
Doesn't have time to learn how to play BF3.
Seems legit ...
I didn't report your article. I didn't even read it. Why would I when our opinions clearly differ greatly? I've played Call of Duty and I know why it's popular, but it's not my kind of game at all. My comment about being a drama queen was referring to the part that I quoted, and that assessment still stands. You want to play the victim while you play a popular game? Go right ahead, just don't expect people to care, and don't pretend that "popular" = "quality". You'd be hard pressed to find a film or literary buff who thought the top selling titles in those fields were "the best". This is no different. Sales have never and will never mean quality. Emotions run high about many subjects. If you want to express your opinion, be ready for disagreement and don't try to play the victim when it comes.
does cod have a new engine? no.
does cod have destruction? no.
does cod have jets? no.
can you parachute in cod? no.
does cod have rooms the size of battlefield? no.
does cod have medic kits, tools? no.
does cod have graphics as good as battlefield? no.
So in your eyes, those who hate Battlefield and Love CoD can speak freely about their hate, yet those who hate CoD and love battlefield cant?
All the more reason for people not to take you seriously
Somebody said he should keep his opinion to himself, to which he replied that anybody with the opposite opinion, when judged by the same logic, should be treated by that individual as if that opinion was equally worthless.
I have no idea where you got the thing you said.
The point of an opinion piece is to spread your opinion an pursuade others to accept it.
You are not pursuading anyone with the manner in which you presented your article.
Your article was poorly worded, over-exagerated, unevened odds, and generally not backed by reason, but purely by stated opinion.
If you say "I'm the best" and give no reasoning, most will just consider you to be self-centered.
Call of Duty Multiplayer is Fun: Somehow implying that the millions who play Battlefield are, in fact, NOT having fun. Hate to break it to you, but I got bored with Black Ops and MW2 much faster than I got bored with BF3(was bored with MW3 before I even played it, so I didn't play it long enough to count it). And I'm far from the only one who feels this way.
Call of Duty Multiplayer Has More Options: The odd thing here is that the majority of players play most of the modes the same way. Most people in Sabotage are just going after kills, for example. In fact, that's all most people who play CoD care about. So having multiple modes where people do virtually the same thing isn't really a bonus. And Zombies isn't in EVERY CoD, so that's only a bonus every other game.
Call of Duty Has Better Single Player Campaign: No. Just... no. I can't speak on MW3 because I didn't try its singleplayer, but if it's anything like the trend that's been going on since MW2, it was short, full of explosions, and not really worth playing through again. The removal of campaign co-op is a bad move, and a six hour story just isn't worth it. BF3 wasn't all that great, either, but you have to go back too far to find a CoD with a campaign that was definitively "better."
Call of Duty is Pick Up and Play: That's not necessarily good, nor is it necessarily bad. There's virtually NO learning curve, which means ANYBODY can play, but it also means that being skilled is rewarded less. Sorry, but I don't feel satisfied going 30-2 when half the guys I shot were due to the auto-aim.
Call of Duty is Played by All: It really isn't, though. In fact, most of my friends (including more than a dozen current/former Gamestop employees, like myself) have STOPPED playing Call of Duty; many of them had been franchise fans since CoD 2. They haven't necessarily jumped on the Battlefield bandwagon- though many of us believe it to be a better game- but they no longer play CoD like they used to.
CODclusion: Your article was one big fanboy gush over CoD, and a big bash of Battlefield. Opinion though it may be, it's based on nothing except... I can't even say speculation. You might as well have written, "Call of Duty is better because I say so. If you disagree, you're a loser fanboy and you suck."
Even your comments here have the same tone.
You're free to prefer Call of Duty over Battlefield; I don't think anybody would hate what you wrote simply for that. But the way you composed your argument is how I'd expect an elementary schooler to "prove" he's right and someone else is wrong.
And IMO after playing other shooters, takes less skill too.
So are sports games (madden, ncaa, golf, etc.), yet you don't see people get angry and write hateful things about those games in their articles. They simply ignore the articles of the games.
I wonder why CoD deserves more attention than those others.
It's hugely popular and the majority of people who play it really, really enjoy it.
Some people are simple enough to hate anything popular, others are upset that every game isn't Braid (or something equally pretentious) and others just don't like anybody else having an opinion that's different to their own.
Personally, I got Battlefield and Call of Duty last year. Different enough to enjoy separately and yet similar enough that they compliment each other in many ways. It's really nice to not have to buy into corporate mudslinging.
Modern Warfare 3 was absolutely terrible and I sold it pretty early, only got to level 29.
I'll probably buy Black Ops 2 because it looks different, but not full price. I'll only pay $30 for it (like I did with MW3), and if I don't like it, I'll sell it.
So don't mistake my comment as if coming from a CoD fanboy, I'm really not. I just find it really hypocritical of these people to come to CoD articles and complain about rehashes, when SOOO many other games do the same thing, even worse sometimes.
The Author of this article prob put in BF3 tried to play it like COD and got sick of it cause he has always been playing the wrong way.
Hahahaha, that's brilliant mate.
"Guys, I had fun with Battlefield, but Call of Duty is the greatest game of all time. I won't be biased though but I will say, you aren't a true gamer unless you play Call of Duty. Oh, and all your friends are playing Call of Duty, and they make fun of you if you don't play."
^^ Entire article summed up.
You have rely on team mates to position so you can get into advantageous positions yourself and push the enemy back and well you dont need that on COD you can just run around the map and rely on your own aim instead of worrying about why 80% of your team is sitting cowering in the spawn with snipers.
So it makes sense that if all but one of your guys is doing good the team loses.
It also suggest you, yourself are not very good at battlefield. Because you can still do well as a single player, it's just harder to get a 'win' as a whole.
op has adhd
IMO, BF is easier for non skilled players to help their team. Playing COD and dying a lot actually hurts your teamdue to the kill streaks. So which one is really for casuals?? I prefer BF, but sometimes a change is needed. I even play Reach at least once a week.
Battlefield. Call of Duty. It's all supposed to be for fun. Play both. Play one or the other. Nobody really cares.
BF was-is will better than call of noobies
nice try tho
:P
on side my only gripe lately with BF3 is admins >.> I've literally been kicked for taking down choppers because the admin was flying it :/
Same goes for hosts with bad connections on CoD no fun lagging out or having people pop up all over then you end up dead with a knife when they're no where near you >.>
Don't care one way or another. Traded both in and and am currently loving CSGO...
There's a lot of reasons you'd prefer CoD over BF3, like there are a lot of reasons to prefer BF3 over CoD. And challenge, actually, isn't one of them. I find it far easier to kick ass in BF3.
