Ten PlayStation Vita games that already make the console worthwhile

Digitally Downloaded writes: "Many would scoff at the mere idea that we could make a “top 10” of Vita games, and not be including throwaway stuff like Treasures of Montezuma Blitz… but indeed it’s possible. In fact, in this list of 10 games that have had me glued to my Vita, I bet I’ve left off a few favourites of other people (in fact, I’ve left off some of my own, like Lumines and Metal Gear Solid)." (BlazBlue Continuum Shift Extend, Disgaea 3: Absence of Detention, Dynasty Warriors Next, Gravity Rush, Motorstorm RC, Ninja Gaiden Sigma Plus, PS Vita, Pure Chess, Rayman Origins, Shinobido 2: Revenge of Zen, Sound Shapes)

Well written article. Salient points made calmly and without fanfare, and then onto the meat of the article. Great job

3 Vita games I love are:

Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Best Fighting game IMO on Vita

Sumioni: Demon Arts makes the best use of the Vita's screen's IMO (think simple Okami on Vita)

Escape Plan: Nice puzzle game.

But of course Uncharted Golden Abyss is great as well.

The Vita has some decent games already, it's just that people want a slew of retail titles, when all they have to do is TRY the demos on PSN because there are some great PSN titles for the Vita.

^^ Here here, it's refreshing.

:P You call yourself a games journalist? Where's all the vitriole, the bias and the flame bait?! :P

Thanks and keep up the good work ;)

My 8gb card is almost full and I'm kinda panicking. If Sony does a price drop on the 32 GB half off for a week I'm jumping on that froggy style.
Knushwood Butt  +   1042d ago
I need a 32, but I'm hoping they release a 64GB...

I have a 32, and Im already in dire need of a 64. Ive had to delete demos, psp games & minis to make room for the ps one games next week. no es bueno

2 things i regret with the Vita :

- no multi account.
- no memory stick slots.
GribbleGrunger  +   1042d ago
you can have multiple accounts if you're willing to mess about a little:

it's a painful process. I have 2 accounts and i want them on the same Vita same Memory Card just like the PS3 does.

The PSP back catalogue still excites me; there's always a bargain on PSN and the Vita's second analog stick breathes new life into some classic titles.

I agree. I'm so glad they supported mapping the second stick. It's really made a big difference for me. Gun, R6V, and Coded Arms are all beastly with that second stick.
Jurat  +   1041d ago
Exactly. I don't even bother commenting on articles heralding the demise of the Vita. I don't wanna up there temp gauge. Best just to ignore.

Just bought Gravity Rush recently and I am loving every bit of the game. Kat is surprisingly a great heroine :)

Next game Im hoping to get is LBP Vita or Shinobido or Unit 13. Viva la vita!

As big a fan as I am of games like Uncharted, Nier, and Valkyria Chronicles, Kat is hands down my favorite character this gen. I like her even more than Neku and Shiki from TWEWY.

Havent played TWEWY but yeah, Kat is really likeable. She's not only strong but quite a fun character :D

Vita is super bad a$$.. I dont give a damn that it doesnt sell well as long as i get to enjoy software being released, ppl can follow the trends all they want.. That being said, i cant wait for LBP, Persona, SxT, Silent Hill, & AC this yr.. PS1 classics & crossbuy games arent going to hurt either XD
