Oculus Rift Creator Talks Long Console Generations, Motion Controls and Real-Time Strategy

Palmer Luckey is in a good place right now. Everyone, from industry luminaries like John Carmack and Gabe Newell, to average gamers at Quakecon, have hailed his Oculus Rift Virtualy Reality Headset as the sort of Holy Grail technology gamers have been chasing for years – truly immersive and responsive virtual reality. Nobody who’s seen it has been able to stop gushing.

Forbes caught up with Luckey recently. For him, it isn’t surprising that projects like his, as well as the Android-based console Ouya, have generated so much excitement. Gamers are an enthusiastic group, but recently there hasn’t been as much to get enthusiastic about. (Oculus Rift, Palmer Lucky, PC, PS3, Wii, Xbox 360)
