If there’s anything you can say about Valve, it’s that they are some smart people. From starting Steam, to creating the Source Engine, they’ve been key to keeping the PC gaming industry alive for years now. Another smart thing that the company did was years ago, when they hired the people who made Counter-Strike, a mod for Half-Life. Back in those days, I was a stupid kid too dumb to know what a mod was… Let alone knowing how to install and play such a brilliant game. When Counter-Strike Source was released though, I became addicted for months.
Years later, after expansion packs and the particularly popular Counter Strike Source remake, Valve are ready for a new entry in the franchise. Counter-Strike: Global Offensive has hordes of fans ready for the ground-breaking shooter’s return. After learning much over the years since Counter Strike Source’s release, with titles like Portal, Team Fortress 2, and Left 4 Dead, Valve is trying to bring back a classic franchise. Will CS:GO stealthily infiltrate the gaming world, or just bomb?

I was also a bit saddened to see that not much has changed. It appears to be a strange move on valves part, especially considering that cod has waned a bit recently. This could have stolen a bunch of people who r looking for something different. And at $15, u can't beat it. So, Hopefully, and as valve has proven, they will continue to support it. It just seems like it may be a missed opportunity in a time in which the competition has cooled off. A lack of an upgrade coupled with little to no advertising is somewhat shocking but if I trust anyone, it is valve. I am just mystified at the moment.
IF Valve gets the popular mods over to consoles, adds in things, and keeps it up to date then they will create a fanbase on consoles.
However, if they fail to do so, this game will die just like all the other FPS titles released digitally. And that won't create new fans at all.
Look at Gotham City Impostors, that's been pretty successful despite a rocky start, servers are still full, they've released a couple of free maps and two paid DLC bundles.
I hope that isn't the case. The game is actually fun. Gotham City is a good example except for the fact the DLC was planned ahead of time. For Counter Strike, Valve actually needs to make an effort. That effort is what will make or break it for me personally. If they fail and give us nothing and let it die within a month or two, then fine I'll cross the next Valve game off my list to buy (unless its Portal 3)
Also I'm hearing that stuff too, that and people getting owned and getting all mad saying the game sucks haha
I love spawn campers though. I've cleared out entire teams attempting to spawn camp my team and have won several games because of it haha Yeah thats making people mad too :P
For only 15 you can atleast experience what game the modern fps evolved from.
