Blizzard’s Jay Wilson publicly apologises for David Brevik comment
Following the Facebook comment of "F**ck that loser" made by Diablo 3 lead Jay Wilson about Gazillion's David Brevik's comments in an interview by IncGamers, he has today released a lengthy public apology.
(Diablo III, PC)
Guys a douche. Diablo wouldn't exist as we know it without Brevik, thus he can say whatever the hell he wants to about Diablo III, and any future Diablo games.
Brevik is one of the reasons why Wilson even has that job. Its like a disney CEO saying fuck that loser to walt disney.
Also - did any of you read what the other people were saying? I'm not sure if they are diablo devs but assuming they are, they were all taking completely cheap shots at brevik. I think blizzard needs to look at some of their employees.
Blizzard has never sold petty content for money u fool. When you don't know what your talking about, its best not to speak. Blizzard will eventually make an expansion pack with an extra act, new classes amongst lots of game changes. You need look no further than diablo 2 lord of destruction. Your thinking of the wrong game franchise.
@neo If gamers were happy with diablo 3, then there wouldn't be near the amount hate being spewed at the guy.
My pc has been died for a few yrs, but i read the d3 forums alot because i loved the first 2 games. And what i have read, makes me think jay and the team at blizzard are digging their own graves.
If they treat another developer like this, it makes you wonder how seriously they consider any suggestions or constructive criticisms about the game, from the players.
How is it possible to screw up a loot game like diablo, a wizard weapon with str, have they never played another arpg in their lives.
Between blizzard dictating to player the what is fun to do, nerfing skills and killing/crippling builds, to a character being a useless weakling without any gear on. The game went from a day 1 console buy to a rental at best. Even alot of console gamers, aren't fond of dumbing a game down.
I played borderlands with a lvl 65 or 66 hunter, equipping a lvl 5 or 10 garbage gun and still killed a lvl 33 enemy in one shot, a few days ago. What is the point of lvling up if you can't slaughter enemies by being overpowered, in crap gear.
"I want to make it clear that I am very sorry for what I said ... Because I thought it was a private message that only he would see, so that I would not get in trouble like this."
Up until the ..., that was part of the beginning of Jay Wilson's apology speech. After the ..., the "he" was Brevik. The last sentence with me wondering if the 2nd half it was he was really thinking, the "he" was Wilson.
To make it easier on people to comprehend, cause it's really difficult... "Because I (Wilson) thought it was a private message that only he (Brevik) would see, so that I (Wilson) would not get in trouble like this."
As thebudgetgamer said, its dumb when people make a bunch of phony apologies. The only reason he (Wilson) apologized is cause he got caught. If it was a private message (like he thought it was) that only Brevik could read, he would have never cared to.
I really think the Diablo 3 backlash has (rightfully) bruised a lot of egos within the new team and Jay was just lashing out...
Though that's not an excuse. He's still a giant douche.

Or are you going to to sell that as a feature , along with two classes , like i expect ?
It's starcraft 2's weird campaign divide all over again , except far worse and with no upside .

And that was then . Blizzard has changed and has been making lots of questionable choices lately , so it's up in the air .
Hell never would we have pictured a blizzard employée being that rude to fellow devs , even rivals .
Or leaving out , especially for so many months , half the interest of diablo 2 : pvp
Wonder if that was what he was really thinking...
If he is talking about Brevik, then no because "you" would be appropriate, not "that".
If he is talking about anyone else, then possibly.
