New character artworks and details revealed for Vergil in DmC: Devil May Cry

Capcom has revealed several new artworks, in addition to some background details, regarding the appearance of Vergil in their upcoming multiplatform title, DmC: Devil May Cry.

Although i may not like the design of the characters, i'm looking forward to renting it and maybe i'll like it. Never judge a book by it's cover especially this game since it looks like it has potential. Maybe not better than original DMCs.

Why can't everyone who wants to "try it" just do what WeskerChild is doing by renting it. Thats the smart choice

and if you don't like it you havent given anything to Capcom/NT

As a guy who doen't like the look of this game and dosen't want people to buy it because of the way Capcom/NT have treat fans I would be fine if people just rented it or bought it a month after release...hell buy it from the bargain bin as long as you don't give Capcom/NT a happy sale...because if we get a DmC 2 instead of DMC 5 then you only have yourself to blame.

If i give them a "happy sale", as you put it, then they might believe they are doing the right thing for the series.

In other words, thrashing the original for something mostly unrelated.

Reasons like The completely took an established iconic franchise and changed EVERYTHING about it not just the look of one character but his attitude, how he handles situations. Took the extremely fast paced combat that you needed skill to actually get a good grade on each part and slowed it down for casuals. Made a reboot of something that didn't need a reboot and tons of people loved?

Okay then let's take God of War and make him into a sparkly fairy princess for the next game, or Drake and turn him into a dude bro that goes around making explosions and killing things in a game with no plot.

It isn't the point that it's change people are mad at, it's the fact that they took something loved and made it into garbage. EVERYTHING about this game is bad, which isn't very surprising considering Ninja Theory has made: Enslaved = garbage, Heavenly Sword = an attempt to clone DMC and a huge failure.

Also look at Silent Hill, western devs started making silent hill and now the series is terrible.

It's not the character design. It seems that way because Capcom/Alex Smith, Ninja Theory, and every other media outlet that posts something about this game makes this the first thing that comes out of their mouth. Get it right it's not the freaking character design or whether his hair is white or not.

More to do with the fact that the franchise did not need a reboot, the combat is slow and clunky in the new, you change rebellion sword into a morphing whip like weapon (Nero's Devil Bringer), aim is gone, weapons over heat. Mundus looks terrible, Virgil Haha I dont even want to start on that one because whew that's a story in it's self. Frame rate issues, simplicity of combos to where you can rank an SSS by doing the same thing over and over.

Also @Summons They try to make Heavenly Swor/Nariko into the female God Of War/Kratos.I got the gist of what you were saying though.

Like i said, if it's atleast a reasonable reason then i'm cool with it, people have their opinions i mean i personally don't like the character models too but i might still check out the game but not buy it unless i'm absolutely sure.

So, all art direction should be ignored from this point on? What is Link turns out like Kratos? Samus turns into a pole dancer. So long as the gameplay looks decent, we should ignored art direction and accept the bastardized vision of a franchise that did not need a reboot?

Just accept whatever any publisher throws at us, regardless of what the change, and clap and cheer even though this is nothing of what DMC is. It is basically a new IP using a name, much like how Lords of Shadow seemingly had "Castlevania" thrown infront of it for sales.

That is not the entire problem! They did not need to westernize DMC, it did not need a reboot, retelling, alternate universe... Whatever NT is calling it this week.

The gameplay is more like Heavenly Sword 2.0 rather then DMC.
