The Playstation 3 Game That Nobody Has Beaten

GP: "When a new video game releases, the odds of it being beaten that same day by someone are usually pretty good. The only games that aren't beaten so quickly are MMORPG's or RPGs in general, which often take more than a few extra days. But what if I told you there was a game on the Playstation 3 that no one has beaten?

In fact, the game has been released for more than three years already. Over the span of so many years you would think at least one person would have seen the elusive ending by now, but the truth is nobody is even close to completing the game. What game could take this long to beat, and why? Well here's your answer." (Culture, Noby Noby Boy, PS3)

Leave to Keita Takahashi to create a game like that. I guess Katamari Damacy's scope just wasn't enough for him... I can definitely see myself checking this out, though.

...Are you just saying this 'cause you want us to help you beat it?!
strangelove  +   273d ago
I want to see the ending screen! I need to know if I should drink more ovaltine!
Azmatik  +   273d ago
lol maybe just a cry for help but still very interesting never heard of this before. i also love the sound of an unbeatable game

I didn't realize this game could be beaten. I've played it and seen it played over and over again and I never thought there was a point to it. I thought it was just a big sandbox. My nieces love this game when they come over and it's nice to see even my toddler pick up a controller, move the character around a bit and smile as he eats random objects on the screen.

def this :)
dragunrising  +   272d ago
Your example made me want this game. I also have a toddler and thought about introducing video games to him. Glad I read your comment, thanks :-)

why not put it on PS+ for free then that goal of getting to pluto will be achievable.
TheLiztress  +   273d ago
You know... I never really put much thought into this game. I'm going to have to look into it and see if I can help that group get closer to the end.
zgoldenlionz  +   273d ago
Lol I was just wondering what happened in noby noby boy, me and my wife use to play it when it first came out and will log on once a blue moon to see its progress.
Megaton  +   273d ago
Noby sucked. I bought it immediately because of his Katamari cred, but it wasn't nearly as fun.
Baka-akaB  +   273d ago
. Seems like a huge ordeal and challenge . however , very few cared about the game or remember it , let alone being able to finish it .

Harsh i know but still true

ill check it out
Summons75  +   273d ago
This game is great, especially when you have a very limited amount of time that you just need to kill.
Azmatik  +   273d ago
i may just buy it now
Freakazoid2012  +   273d ago
No offense but if the game couldnt be beaten with 30,000 people, it's probably not going to be beaten at all.

Sounds like a really bad design choice. These types of games just do not have the mass appeal that it would need to get enough people playing to beat the game.

I'd bet though that if it was a COD game and 1 kill was equal to 1 meter, it would reach to Alpha Centauri by now
onegirlgeek  +   273d ago
I remember someone showing me this once, but I've never actually played it. For five bucks, though...maybe I'll check it out.
SegaKnuckles86  +   273d ago
I bought this game since launch...or shortly after if my memory doesn't serve me right. The most awkward game I have ever played but sure is a fun time waster with trophies to boot. Not my type of game though.
Donnywho  +   273d ago
Yea this games is a trip. I remember making people take piggy back rides to get the last trophy and then I just stopped playing. I chipped in a good amount of distance to pluto and Good luck with that you brave, diehard, 50 people.
Emilio_Estevez  +   273d ago
Strange....Heard of this game, but apparently knew nothing about it.
fantasygamer  +   273d ago
Sony and Namco should offer this to PSN+ users at a discount or free.
triplev16  +   273d ago
HAHA—Me and my son still play this today. Every other week or so he wants to play Noby Noby Boy. It's mindless fun. I got it because I was a big fan of the Katamari series, but it doesn't have any structure really so it's easy to put down and forget about it. Still an original game and very quirky.
PS3Freak  +   273d ago
I'm contemplating buying this game, even though I have never liked the Katamari series; just to see the ending.

Instant advertising.

Downloading now
Sukebe_Gamer  +   273d ago
Sony should offer this free to PS+ subscribers. Then maybe we can get to see the ending.

Edit: NVM saw somebody mention that already. good idea tho

There's a reason nobody has finished it. Nobody plays it.
miDnIghtEr20C_SfF  +   272d ago
Exactly. Just another one of many.
BDG  +   272d ago
I agree, sony should give this game for free to plus users to give it a final push to the end

Like many others, this game had drawed my interest, but then, I just forgot all about it.
Someone should do an petition or something to gather dedicated gamers to play it. It would @ least increase the number of gamers playing. & maybe an re-release (HD can be the excuse) to get the game noticed again.

Sidenote;
Just what if, the ending is some crappy 8-bit Nintendo game-style ending, that last a mere 10-15secs., with some "di, di-di, bop" jingle music, then credits?!

THAT would be sooo hilarious, & epic!

Not that the game should have some lengthy Metal Gear-style ending, but dammit, it better be satisfying.

hazelamy  +   272d ago
they need to make this a PS Plus giveaway to get the numbers back up, and finally make it to whichever planet they've set as the end goal.
hazelamy  +   272d ago
dang, not one but two people already suggested this.

still, shows it's a good idea.
Robotronfiend  +   272d ago
I'll check this out too. I'm surprised there haven't been any worm hole jokes yet.
ziggurcat  +   272d ago
i had no idea that there was even an ending to this game... i guess i should start playing it again.
dragon_rocks  +   272d ago
The author did not give some details properly. Though the Noby Noby Boys stretch and extend, it is not them who are reaching out in the space. It is the Girl (just called "Girl" in the game and shown in the pic on the site around moon) which is out there and takes stretching length from the several boys which are controlled by the players. The game is fun though and you can do some funny stuff with the NPCs in the game.

Five bucks eh...might be worth a shot. Never knew it had a collective effort hook in there.
