"PROMPTLESS MINI-GAMES – Context-sensitive quick-time events are simplified, giving players more control and freedom over finishing moves and cinematic kills"

Wow, that's concerning. Do the finishing move QTEs really need to be simplified?

Did you read the rest? It says "giving players more control and freedom over finishing moves and cinematic kills". Sounds good to me
Fez  +   735d ago
How can simplifying QTEs give players more control? Adding control usually means increasing complexity. Seems like a contradiction to me.

Regardless, it's just semantics since the fact sheet was released by Sony what they mean is the "QTEs have been improved /marketing".

@Fez
What? Are you reading that right? It's says "Context-sensitive quick-time events are simplified"

CONTEXT-SENSITIVE. The standard norm for QTE's have been BUTTON prompts thus are not subject to SENSITIVITY. The fact that the "context-sensitve" QTE's are simplified meant that players can probably have an array of choices to decide what the outcome is in a more dyamic fashion.

freeze enemies in their tracks by controlling the flow of time itself with the new Life Cycle Mechanic.

cool sounds like a prince of persia mechanic.

Yeah although its not the first time we will see Kratos being able to manipulate time, GOW 2 had some time mechanics also. :)

It feels more of the same, which is bad in this case. Even though I'm a big fan of the main series, I never bothered with the Spin-offs.

What exactly feels the same? The part where you... or the set piece that.... ?

Everything.

I think the reason people seem dis-interested is the scale... when you look at the main games, the scale always increased... GOW 1 you killed a god, GOW 2, you killed the champions, the sisters of time and fought zues.. GOW 3, you killed all the gods and a titan... I think people expect the main games to up the ante

The spinoffs, had less scale, but that was understandable due to the hardware... I think because they reduced the scale, some people are a bit uneasy

What, do you want it to be turn based RPG? Maybe a FPS? It brings enougg change, while sticking to the basics. I like it.

All that really matters to me is the online.
